  1. [hv=d=e&v=b&n=shaq1093dqj3cj10982&s=sa72hj54dak10caq75]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] I was sitting South. The bid went: E=pass / S=1NT / W=2♠ / N=2NT / E= 3♠ / S= 3NT / W=pass / N=4♥ / pass pass pass. I bid 3NT because I thought my partner had a stop in spades, no 4-card majors and probably stops elsewhere. We had no particular agreements. My partner objected, saying that 2NT was an interrogative about minors, and that it is a very usual bid. My questions: 1) Is that so? 2) Even if it is so, wasn't it better for north to bid 3♥ after West's 2♠?
  2. We are using "BBO Advanced 1.3 plus my favorite conventions". When playing, if I bid 2♠ on my RHO opening of 1♠, FD's window says "Michaels - 5+ spades, 5+ minor", instead of "5+ hearts, 5+ minor". What's wrong? How could I correct it?
  3. When I look at the openings in FD, I see a column of pink squares divided into 4 parts by the diagonals. Inside the triangles there are some dots. I guess the dots stand for 1st position 2nd position etc. My question is "Which is the first position?". Is it the lowest triangle, traditionally standing for South? If so, West triangle would be 2nd position, North 4th, East 4th.... I hope my guess is right
  4. My partner and I are practising the 2/1 system. We don't like the 2♦ waiting response on the 2♣ opening, but prefer the half-controls bidding (2♦ = 0/1 half control, 2♥ = 2 half-controls (2 kings or 1 ace), 2♠ = 3 half-ctrls...etc. We would like to modify the 2/1 convention card (I think we should give it another name), but can't find a way to operate this change. Is there a way to do it?
  5. Thanks Helene & Csdenmark for you attention & suggestions.
  6. I am practising Mike Lawrence's 2/1 system, and would like to change some items in the SAYC advanced card. How could I make the changes? Should I register this modified card under a name of my own? Where? Inside my folder or outside?
  7. I have used the FD card for some time, but now I'd like to remove it. Definitely. The reason is that I am using SAYC plus conventions but I regularly play with friends using BBOITA and 2/1. When I sit at table, instead of opening my card and deleting all possible ways of activating it, I would like to do away with Full Disclosure, going back to the old way of alerting. Is it possible to find a way to absolutely scratch FD away?
  10. Thank you Marlowe My intention was to bid Michaels, but I was unsure if it was usable after the sequence 1♥-pass-3♥, since up to that moment we had been using Michaels only after RH player's opening at level 1.
  11. SAYC, no one vulnerable, IMP My hand: ♠ K J 10 9 7 4 2 ♥ 7 ♦ - ♣ A K J 8 4 I was sitting in South. West dealer The bidding went: 1♥ p 3♥ 4♥ Hoping my partner would bid 4♠. His hand: ♠ 8 3 ♥ J 10 ♦ Q 7 5 4 3 2 ♣ 9 5 2 He didn't like my bid. What do you think?
  12. Thanks everybody. It is my fault. I was playing with an old friend I had'n seen for long, and took for granted he played "the old way". No agreement, no party. Thank you for your attention
  13. We play SAYC. My hand: ♠ A K 9 ♥ 8 3 ♦ Q 10 8 2 ♣ K 10 7 5 Partner opens 1♥ RHO pass I bid 2NT LHO pass Partner bids 4NT Is he asking for aces or suggesting 6NT if I have extra values? Or what? His hand: ♠ Q 8 3 ♥ A K 10 7 6 5 2 ♦ A 9 ♣ Q
  14. Se hai un po' di pazienza puoi provare un programmino, che funziona in DOS, scaricabile dal sito di Richard Pavliceck. Lo trovi da qualche parte nel sito, oppure come http://www.rpbridge.net/z/cc12.zip Buon lavoro
  15. Thank you for your help. Now I feel supported in my choice, which is the easier 1 SPADES, considering my bridge level. Later on...I'll think about it.
