Well, actually, i was the opener myself I held ♠KQJxxxx ♥Kx ♦Qxx ♣x To me, opening 1♠ and jump to 4 after the game forcing response means "ok we are commited to game, this is the only one i can play, and i dont see any chance to go further, pls pass, unless you have a bomb" My partner bid 6 ♠, wich to me is a big mistake (trumps void, 2 missing red Kings and club ace, remember). Yet my p disagrees to my bid and claim the -500 (2 down doubled ) is my fault. What do you think? Tx

To clarify a little, you are not playing pictures bid, and 2♠ rebid could be anything (only promises 6 cards), from a weak opener to no upper limits, expecting p to better describe his hand. You do play some simple fast arrival.

Well, for the record opener hand was AJx K QJx AKJxxx He had a hard choice when deciding what to id for reopen, red against white, and choose to underbid (IMO)with 2 ♣. After 2 ♥, 3 ♣, pass, pass 3 ♥, all passed, for 2 down opposed cold 6! Anyway i think ai cant go beyond 3 ♣ and it was my p responsability to went further after i showed some strength (with 3♣)

All white, playing Matchpoints, you deal and have Kxx, xx, AKxx, KQ9x. You open 1♦ (some would open 1NT, but this is not the case), LHO pass, partner bid 2♦ (inverted minors), and RHO bid 3♣. What would you bid then?

1♠, intendig to rebid at 4 level unless p showed hearts

Tx for all replies. The hand was held by my partner, who is indeed far better player than i am (and he's also my father, by the way, imagine the family crisis :) ). He opted to pass, and after i bid 1NT (holding xxx KQx xx AKQxx) claimed i had to x myself. My point is: partner pass says: I have no penalty x to 1 ♦ (otherwise he shows it doubling of course). First x to 1 ♣ suggested some values in suit. He is passed hand, game seems to be out of the question (as it is) So i opted to bid 1NT, (placing ♦ stopper on p hand). Actually, he showed FOUR ♦ stoppers, and we could score some 800 instead the 120 we did. Please, feel free to share your opinions about the hand.
