A google search of this CLSID indicates that it is related to DirectX, and specifically text-to-voice apps. Maybe if you turn off sound...?

Use Ctrl-W to change the window size. (Found this in a BBO Help file.) I presume you installed symbol.ttf (not system.ttf). I don't know why you need sudo to run the program -- mine runs just fine with regular wine -- maybe you are writing to an oddball disk partition?
