3NT

2NT Jacoby is my bid. The only important thing here is to show partner what is the trump. I dont understand the 2♦ bidders, because the opps will/can disturbed our bidding.

I normally follow Rolands golden rule and lead from my best/longest suit with a trump stack and i would lead a♠ if partner shows 6-9 or better. But this time partner shows 0-6......a big difference i think. So i lead ♣ace (read joker-gibs post) and that was the only right thing do this time: [hv=n=sxxxxhxdxxxxckjxx&w=skjxhaxdqxxxcxxxx&e=sah10987xxdakxxcqx&s=sqxxxxhkqjxdjcaxx]399|300|[/hv] Of course often a♠ lead could be right but the reason i post this was that the dummy (a friend) said it was a bad lead and i was just lucky this time. So i ask a lot of norwegian experts what they would lead and get the same answers from all of them: ♣ace

Hi, we play this defence vs 1NT: Dbl= Good opening 2♣= Both major 2♦= 5+major 2♥= 4♥, 5+minor 2♠= 4♠, 5+minor 2NT= Both minor Is it any name of this defence ?

My bid is 4♥, second choise is 3NT.....pass NEVER

Agree with Gerben here, Pass If partner is strong unbalanced with a 4card major he bid his suit Btw i would bid 1♥the first time, not 2♣

System was SAYC, with a pick-up partner. I normally bid 3♦with these cards but was afraid of a big misfit and too mess up the bidding, so i bid what i thought was the right contract: 3NT. I dont mean that 3♦ is wrong, but is 3nt so bad ? Playing 2/1 GF i would allways bid3♦

I would double. If i pass opps can bid/preempt us out. And if its go 1♦-(2♣)- p -(p)- x -(p)- ? Whats your bid now ?

I doubt that is true. As I said in another thread I think Greco - Hampson are better than at least two of the three US1 pairs <_< Agree Gerben

I like 4♦: 5♦, 4♠ and game values denying singl./void....maybe not standard ? With 18-19 balanced and 4♠ i would jump to 4♠

There are rights / wrongs in both bidding and play....can be difficult to see sometimes but lets take 2 simple examples : 1. Bidding (sayc): Partner open 1♠ and you have AQxx-QJx-Qx-xxxx Right answer ? of course it is....3♠ 2. Playing: xxxx in hand vs AQxxx in dummy, you must play with no looser Right answer ? finesse is the only right thing to do. And if you can afford 1 looser but not 2 ? the right thing is to play the ace first.

If 1NT rebid promise a balanced hand and 2-3♠ (forget 3♠if u want) isnt it better playing 2♠ with 5-2 fit than 1NT ?? With stronger hands it could be different but i would allways choise 5-2 fit instead of 1NT. I understand why people pass if 1NT not promise a balanced hand, but thats not my style.

Agree with Fluffy, 2♠ Opener could rebid 2♣ if 1-4-4-4/1-3-5-4 and 2♦ if 1-4-5-3

I understand very well why people dont like the 2♦ overcall. But its still my choise to bid 2♦, and 3♦ is also my style. Double and 4♦ looks very wrong to me

PASS, allways......i have told my story, why go crazy ?? because of 2 aces ? If i have a 4th ♥ and/or singleton ♦ i would bid 3♥. Double should show a better hand.
