  1. Hi, I have been asked several times if I can make a ranking of a couple of the tournaments that are scheduled every day on bbo. I would gladly do so, but it is too much work to enter the results manually. Is there a way to download a file that could be loaded into e.g. excel? It could be any format, xls, htm, csv......
  2. [hv=pc=n&s=s9hkqj32daqj73c83&w=saj5432h5dt86ck94&n=sqt6ht987d5cj7652&e=sk87ha64dk942caqt&d=n&v=b&b=13&a=p1n2hppp]399|300[/hv] Hi all, In a MP tourney, after a 16-18 1nt by east south bids forgets that the NS pair plays DONT and bids ♥, alerted and explained by N as majors. The result is 2 ♥ made, where all the other tables are in 4♠, one of them one down and the rest made, so it is a 100 % top for NS. There are no CC's in the tourney, but it seems clear that the NS pair does play DONT, but that S forgot in this situation. If this assumption is accepted, is there any adjustment to be made? Should South have explained the situation before the opening lead? Thanks in advance.
  3. Any answers? Can I count on the format continuing like this? aljorge
  4. Ok, now I had a moment to look at it: As from yesterday 23. of abril the 'Honor List' (first page in the lin-file) contains the best 12 pairs, whereas before it was only 10 pairs, and that gives obviously 2 extra lines to account for. Not cool :P
  5. Hi, Some time ago I made some automated import processes of the lin-files into excel in order to make rankings for some tourneys. Yesterday I discovered that it no longer works properly, it seems you have added a couple of lines which spoil the import process. Is that right? Do you plan to keep the format this way? Allan
  6. Yes! The only reason I haven't asked for that is that I am too lazy B) We do latin (mostly spanish) tourneys and i would really like to be able to include portuguese and italian, at least Aljorge
  7. Fred, Sherri and Uday, Congratulations aljorge
  8. Hi, There are 2 different tourneys: 1 - 'Reyno de Castilla' (this is the one that gives me the most problems because of the high number of pairs - sometimes over 100): Mp's-Pairs-Swiss-Barometer 2 - 'Islas del Caribe': Imp's-Pairs-Unclocked-Barometer What's the ranking scheme? hmm - not sure what you mean, you have an example here: http://jorgensen.es/bbo.htm - Maybe it only happens when the number of pairs is over 100? Rgds Allan
  9. Hi there, I have asked before, but did not get an accurate answer: Could somebody please tell me from which point a tourney gets divided in 2 sections? I am doing some automated rankings and it does not work when more than one section, so I want to limit the tourneys to that number. Please, it is quite important since it means quite a bit of work to do it manually.... Thx and rgds Allan (aljorge)
  10. Hi all, I am a helping as TD in a couple of daily tourneys, where the hosts have decided to ban psyches. Personally I do not agree since I feel they are a part of this game, although I think I have never used them. However, I do feel there is a significant difference between a psyche and a false bid. Often, if you do not have a suitable bid and you want to keep the auction open, sometimes you just need to take something out of the hat, and then take the consequences and the possible following disaster as a (wo)man. I must admit I'm not a frequent user either, but I do admire when people are able to use them correctly (also when I am the damaged part). The trouble as I see it is that many people do not agree on this - whenever someone makes an 'imaginative' bid they call TD and shout 'Psyche!!!!'. So - am I right or am I wrong? Is there a difference between psyches or not? Thanks and regards, Allan (aljorge)
  11. I have seen several swiss unsectioned too, up to 80-90 tables, so it does not seem to be the problem either.......
  12. I thought of that, Hotshot - but on the other hand, it is divided into sections with fewer tables that others which are not, eg.: http://www.jorgensen.es/bbo/caribe3.lin - 62 tables, undivided and http://www.jorgensen.es/bbo/castilla7.lin - 60 tables, 4 sections Rgds Allan
  13. Hi there, I'm doing a web site with results from two tourneys on BBO, importing results from the lin-files into excel. However, one of the tourneys sometimes gives the result in 4 (and maybe 6, not sure) sections, which means that I have to edit the tourney manually. The person that creates the tourney has no idea on why this happens, and I cannot see it either in the tourney options. Could you please tell me how to avoid it? (the tourneys are all Imps, sometimes unclocked, sometimes swiss) Rgds Allan
  14. Ahhh, sorry about that - I did not think of it that way. But it's a bit odd to let dummy watch all players in a tourney, isn't it? Anyways, now I know what NOT to do ;) Regarding the language I'm not talking about the language setting for the program, but the actual keyboard setting. I have a spanish keyboard, so eg shift+9 gives me ')' - but suddenly something happens, bbo changes the settings so that shift+9 gives me the '?' sign (I suppose that is the english keyboard). It only goes for the bbo software - if I at the same time open a text editor I have my normal keyboard.
  15. Hi there, Today in our regular tourney it occured to one of the TD's to remove the 'tic' in 'Kibitz partner when dummy', and surprisingly it had the contrary effect - suddenly all the dummys started informing that they could see all 4 hands, where they actually were supposed to see only their own cards, the dummy. Is it a bug? And now that I'm here (he he), sometimes BBO changes my keyboard to another language, whereas in other windows programs I still have my usual spanish keyboard. No way getting back to normal until I leave and restart the program. Aljorge
  16. Hi, I have been doing some automatic processing of the results files in Excel (not big science, but it works for my purposes) in order to make a ranking for a couple of tourneys. Before starting I verified that it was not possible to create a user name with a dash (-) in it. But now that I have everything running I've come across with a nick that does include a dash - is that because it is an old user name that was created when there were no restrictions?
