I believe 3M over 2M for us is a stopper ask, and 3D over 2D is majors. Would you recommend playing Michaels in all denominations? Anyway, what happened at the table is that I bid 3D, hoping to survive, which I hilariously did when partner passed and righty backed in with 3S.
IMPs, Lefty opens 2S, pass pass to you x AKxxx AKxxxx x I do not know how strong of a hand Leaping Michaels is supposed to show, but in any case, you do not play it.
or Bo and Hope on Days of our Lives. Sorry, showing my age. I think he meant to write Luke and Laura http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luke_Spencer_and_Laura_Webber I have no idea what a one tree hill is. It's a teenie bopper tv show. I think you're better off not knowing.
Why are people being so harsh to the girl? We can conjecture all we want, but basically he can't know until he meets her. Even then, he may not know afterward, but if your friend is emotionally able to meet her in person, well then he hasn't lost anything. All that matters is whether he wants to meet her or not, and whether or not he is stable enough.
Okay, I don't think the second double is balancing at all, partner heard your first double, why should you restate the same values? Anyway the story is that I passed after partner bid 3H, making 5 (4 is pretty cold) I held x KQxx AKxx AQJx
Both matchpoints Favorable Jx AT98x xxx AKx Righty opens 1S, you? Axxx AKQx Jxx Jx Righty opens 1D, you? I don't remember the vul for this one, would it change your decision?
Club length is likely with W, either clubs have to break 4-4, or you need the suit to block. I would duck twice.... I will not play W to have led from AQJxx(x) since I think he would be more worried about leading the suit, not to mention he would have overcalled if he had 6. Grasping at straws here....
I guess finesse, E probably has KJxx of clubs, and I'll assume D9 is count, showing 6. They have 11 diamonds, and neither player bid, so assuming this is a true count card, it sounds like E has the diamond length.
Ah okay, I think your explanation in parentheses describes what was actually meant at the table. Takeout doubler was relatively weak player, 2S bidder a very strong player.
