The Chinese in the original post says "Big Bridge."
-
dislike the bidding, i would have preferred LHO not to have bid 5C
-
I think in other hands a 3C raise came after a forcing 1N auction, like 1S - 1N 2C - 3C where 3C was a courtesy raise. Can this be applied here as well? In the forcing NT auction, opener could have as much as 17-18, but isn't that not the case here?

Justin should get points for managing to put this topic in the right forum

Is this the song? 30 days hath September, April, June, and November. All the rest have 31-- Just a minute, we’re not done! February’s the shortest one. With 28 most of the time, but in Leap Year twenty-nine.

I would try the top 3 spades. If LHO is 2542 and pitches a red card, we have no problems, just play diamonds. He won't have enough tricks to beat me. If he pitches a club, I would try club A (hoping to drop an honor) and then a club to the 8. RHO will win this club and another, but he is forced to yield a club trick to me. If he doesn't pitch at all (3451), then I'm just going to try dropping a stiff club honor and play a club to the 8 again. Edit: what vuroth said Also, if LHO is 0544, then I just hope he has KQxx of clubs and he's in trouble when the spades come.

what are these two doubles?
goobers replied to mike777's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
the first one i would understand to be a game try if agreed as a game try, otherwise penalty the second one just looks like business -
uhm. pretty sure i felt that preempting was not so good... maybe he agreed with your not agreeing with you (option 3)
-
The poll results scare me I'm curious about the meaning of the second auction, x = penalty, 3H = i have extra shape but i didn't bid it earlier, or i'm chicken?
-
What about the profiles that display "No information available"... how does that happen? Did it not find a locally saved profile or something?

Yes, I am aware of the original problem, and originally I was writing pseudocode to simulate the events. However, when you're thinking of programming out the chain of events, you realize that it can all be simplified into the above.
-
The problem as presented is very counter intuitive. At the critical point, you have two doors remaining. Who wouldn't think it wasn't 50/50? I was in 6th grade when I first heard this problem, and I had to draw a diagram to finally understand why it was not so.
-
Maybe I just have a different definition of absurd. Randomly place goats/car. Randomly choose a door. If door = car, win. If door = goat, lose. Loop. PS I am not smart enough to understand your program :)
-
Unless you are doing something completely counter intuitive (ie having the computer change the doors or calculate things based on probability instead of just making 3 doors), your program will not go wrong, even if you truly thought it was 50-50. Edit: By counter intuitive, I meant absurd.
-
What if you want a goat? Then obviously you should not switch B)

[hv=n=sqjxxhjxda9xxxcxx&s=saxhakxxxdkqtxxcx]133|200|[/hv] South deals, it goes 1H - (2C) - x - (3C) Where from here? Oops MPs

decode this sentence Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.
-
"Anyways" is like "irregardless". Shouldn't exist, but it does. Hahaha, I really liked the urbandictionary definition, "more than one anyway"

what is this double

How many people actually look where you pull your cards from? Anyway, I always hold my hand under the table, fully sorted.
