  1. Hi Uday, Thanks for allyour help. My friend had the Diablo virus, but she has had her machine cleaned (and reformatted) and everything is now okay with her, so no need to block her. Cheers Zarah
  2. Hi, Could it be possible that my friend's pc has been infected by a worm/virus from BBO software? When she is playing online, messages/links to sites which are dangerous are automatically displayed in the chatbox. She then has to warn everyone not to click on it etc. Her virus checker is not picking it up. Does anyone else have this problem? :) THank you very much
  3. thanks for your reply. I have deleted all our temp files, but makes no difference. I have also deleted and then reinstalled Bridgebase, and still not geting logged on. I could get on this morning (GMT) but not after 3pm. I can get as far as loading player lit up to 1400 players, (that takes 13 minutes!) then it sticks...lost connection etc. This is driving us crazy. We have alsotred bbotv...with slightly more success, but still not ideal because the format is different. Zarah
  4. Hello My husband and I play on wireless home network,(me on Vista laptop , he on XP PC) We are GMT. In mornings and early pm the logon is quick and we can usually play ok, but as the day gets later we can rarely logon, and if we manage then the connection slows to a halt and we have to leave as we must drive oher players up the wall! (ncludn ourselves) We have 8MB broadband, and it is working okay. This has been going on for a long time now(months)...I have tried to change all the settings suggested in other forum threads (ports, etc) but nothing helps. We even go banned once because we kept leaving a game in the middle of a hand, which we never o on purpose! Please help as we are really keen to play bridge on this site. Thanks

Dear Mrs Williams, As its outside of our network control that the loss is happening then you may have to find from Bridgebase if they have any other online servers that you can connect too to see if this is routed differently which may help cut out that problem. Regards, This is the latest reply from my server. I am unable to logon to bridgebase, and I find it very frustrating.
  6. This is the response I have recieved from my ISP after subitting a trace route to them. Dear Mrs Williams, Looking at the tracert you have provided it appears the packet loss and therefore the poor connection is happening at a server external to PlusNet. This is shown by the 100% packet loss on the following section of the tracert. 100/ 100 =100% THE-PLANET.car4.Dallas1.Level3.net Can you help me now. Thanks zarah
  7. Can you please attach trace routes to the servers affected by this. Also is it only port 9999 that is used, is this encrypted traffic? This is the reply I have received from my ISP. I do not know the IP address, or DNS so I cannot trace it. Help please zarah

  10. i have dreadful login problems. It can 30 mins to eventually get a table. It used to be 10 seconds. I have a new PC, 2mb broadband line, norton, (but I have same probs on my laptop and no Norton on it). When I do get connected, I am slow and get kicked out. I am so frustrated as I really enjoy playing and I just cannot figure out what is wrong. I run Internet Explorer 7, could this be causing a conflict. What about firewalls? Please help Zarah :huh:
  11. yes it can take a long time, first to load the names list, then the table list, then to wait for a response from the server to sit at a table. I did not used to have any problems until I upgraded to Internet Explorer 7. I have same problem on my laptop. PC has Norton, laptop has no virus checker at the moment. Not beyond any firewall.
  12. I am currently using Version 4.8.3 and have tried many times to upgrade to 4.9.9. But cannot, evertime it just downloads 4.8.3. I know there is a newer version because it is discussed in the forum. HELP. Also, I use Internet Eplorer 7, would this make any difference to the speed that I can downoad the names and table list? It can sometimes take me 30 mins or more just to sit at a table. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Zarah :rolleyes:
