The ACBL has the largest membership of all countries involved in the game of bridge. They have more than their fair share of excellent players, which attract large audiences whenever they are playing on BBO. On the other hand, their Vugraph presentations, delivery of results, and infrequency of availability do not match the standards of their players. I honestly empathise with their vugraph operators who have to deal with less than desirable dialup connections and who have to depend on caddies to inform them of results. At the same time I feel sorry for Roland Wald and his crew of commentators who often are bombarded with questions that they cannot answer owing to external circumstances. More than once BBO vugraph viewers have been informed that transmission from the USA is lacking owing to the lack of capable operators. Are they not proud of players? Maybe the august body of ACBL tournament organisers should watch European tournament organisation. I extend congratulations to JEC and his team for winning the Reisinger. They have provided this BBO member with many hours of entertainment and education. Smandy0
