  1. so often experienced that one person does not reply when starting a team game.... why is it not possible to replace that person at once ? Now you have to wait for 2 min (I think) before BBO lets you try find another player.......and by that time you often find that one or two of the players who accepted TM invite in first place have found 'elsewhere' to play............
  2. Being a player with a star on BBO tells the world you are a good player and have won a lot of tourneys. Should also tell you are an ambassador for the game we all love.....BBO members come to watch you play and of course are proud if they meet you in a tourney and happen to beat you. But stardom also obliges....unless you play with your equals you should always be extra generous and extra understanding if you meet players who have not yet reached your expert level. Make as many as possible to find out bridge is a game for everybody should be your aim.
  3. Interesting topic...true that waiting in a tourney is a problem when you play fast...but on the other hand free chat in a tourney can be most annoying... E-bridge, where I once played, has a good solution.....once you have finished the hands you are supposed to play in your tourney round you can chat privately with your partner, people in lobby or other people playing the same tourney (provided they have also finished the round) this normally keeps people occupied and waiting doens't feel like an eternety did suggest this to Uday almost a year ago but doesn't look like he thinks it is a great idea though.....perhaps we should all talk nicely to him.... vanilla
  4. why is every expert so wild about getting a rating system ? surely you should all be able to judge who you want to play with and who not here we have a free bridge site where we can all go search for friends and partners, play and enjoy....and still so many choose to complain if you want a rating system, why not go somewhere else...can only mention OK, e-bridge and swan....but guess better stay on the free site and wimper !!!! think stars and true experts have an obligation to make this game of ours known to as many people as possible. think they should all be ambassadors of bridge, make their contribution to make this game of ours known to people who have not yet found out how fun it is.....after all - could we have all events where stars meet and compete if a large majority of ordinary players were not paying to their national bridge assosiations..... stars and experts should inspire us ordinary players, represent their countries in big tournaments, inspire us and urge us to study the game and get better. new approaches should be published and discussed and club members invited to test and try...be active and work against the ACBL approach that everything new is to be feared and forbidden.... so be happy that Fred and his friends made this site for us, go find friends who are out there waiting for you and work actively to make bridge a game for us all
  5. know what!!!! never did that TD let me know what crime I comitted to be dismissed from her tourney...........found out she also excluded me from future participation in her tourneys..... perhaps you say I really should not worry about this but TD in question seems to be an ACBL qualified TD also - directing in tourneys we play money for to play in.... we should use this forum (BBO) with so many players from all countries all over the world and from all levels from expert to novice to discuss what we can do to make bridge a game for everybody... so I am a paria.......not allowed to play with the good kids
  6. how come this always makes opponents want to hit you ? and how come even TD's seem not to be able to handle it ??? was in a tourney where partner opened 1 H - thereafter passed my bid 1 S and I was about to play that....then dymmy pops up with 3S and a single H opps yelled for TD what was more surprising was that TD just dismissed us from table with no comments at all..........can anybody fill me in with what rules are for bluffing and if rules are different in different countries
  7. member number and when member joined bbo...where do I find that information ?
