  1. 4♦ seems reasonable. I could pass on the assumption that someone will make life easy - just don't think it will be me.
  2. 6♠ Who knows, so let's be bold.
  3. Double. The void makes you think, but this hand looks good if partner passes the double.
  4. Awkward hand. I went for the crude 3NT. Not absolutely sure where everyone else expected to end up.
  5. I'd win the heart and exit with a diamond. How else do we get some options and tighten the hand. I'm not ready to decide it is all about me guessing clubs.
  6. Double. No other bid for me, no other call.
  7. Pass. This is not a good situation, and I could very easily make it worse by bidding.
  8. I'd assume partner wanted a lead of oppos primary suit - spades. I chose the four - in a minority of one. Feels good to give a count, and I have an ace to get the lead for a lead of the ten on the second round.
  9. Five hearts. I picture the opponents with maybe seven/eight spade tricks and a some diamonds.
  10. Then you find partner with void xxxx xxxx AJxxx :) And with him on lead, you find you can't beat 7♦ and you are cold for 7♣ B) I like the auction and I agree that we don't redouble... for all the reasons others have given Quite true, though I don't see how I get to know that clubs is better than spades. if opps have a making save in 7D over 7C, what do I do about it?
  11. Pass, second choice 1♥. I'll try to explain to partner why I missed out on showing my two suiter.
  12. I'd bid 6S on the first round and not redouble.
  13. In real life I am definitely playing a second club and playing for ruffs ('elopement') . I know that may be what Apollo81 said, but it is not a poll. Maybe the issue is whether to cash one trump. I would because I think East, with his rubbish hearts, most likely has poor spades and good diamonds. So it is club ace, spade ace, diamond ruff, club king etc for me.
  14. If 2H is extras I would make my system bid. Possibly 2S - half stop + no extras Possibly 2NT - no extras less than a spade stop. Possibly 3C. Don't really understand that 2H extras (opposite a partner who didn't double) is unplayable. Wouldn't be my choice, but not incomprehensible or unworkable.
  15. Pass Seems to describe my hand. If partner overcalls a spade on a twenty count, I would do something different.
  16. We were playing leb so 3♥ is game forcing but presumably not sure ♥ is the trump suit or looking for something more than game but that is hard to imagine given lack of opener's XX and responder 0-8. OK So move my vote to 4H (I should have read the options more closely.) I sympathise with a poster who is bombarded with questions. Gt on with it!
  17. 3♥ Edit: it's a poll so I guess I should add some reasoning. I have a fair hand with a six card suit: partner appears to have diamonds, so I restrain my enthusiam and bid three rather than four.
  18. I voted for 3NT a while ago, without any special confidence. I suppose if readers have a favourite, they might warm to a particular post.
  19. 5♦ The opponents may have the black cards and I'd like to get my hand across quickly, or we may have a misfit, in which case 5♦ right now will probably work best. I think freaks are a bit like preempts. A perfect result may not be possible.
  20. Ace and another spade in real life.
  21. Pass Not introducing this hand. Sometimes oppos use your distribution to reach slam.
  22. I'd bid 4C. What does 4NT show in this auction?
  23. Different view of the world for me. When partner doubles, he says oppos may be having a bit of a game. So I definitely respond with a double of 4S with my excellent defence. If partner has something else in mind, he can bid on.
  24. Halo

    how now?
