hanks for your tips - I'm no longer as root ;) I can now get it to start, but it sort of hanged on "updating convention cards" or "updating profile".... Hi, I'm trying to get bbo (4.7.0) working on ubuintu breezy with wine 0.9.1which was what came down when I apt got it. hmm, this is the fourth thread on this topic I've seen, and I'm also having this problem. I've tried reinstalling, and restarting. My user name is datakid. I know that I'm almost getting there - I sometimes get so far as the "Loading tables" screen, and can see some pruple friends before it just stops loading. Other times it just seems to hang on the loading players screen. This happened on both instances of bbo 4.7.0 I was using. I was running it on Windows 2000 server, no firewall, no antispyware or anti virus. I'm on a 2MBit connection. which I regularly get decent speeds from. I am also torrenting and surfing successfully (although I am stopping these things to give bbo network primacy). I'm about to try and install it under wine on ubuntu. If that doesn't work, I'll try a new modem and see how we go.
