why can't I play the cards with the keyboard?

sorry, it is only when i play bridge-master there is a problem with the keyboard. -
every time I try to play a card with the keyboard all that happens is that the chat window appear. i have click the enable "the keyboard entry for play/bidding" in the option menu. what am i doing wrong?
