  1. One of the most important thing in slam bidding is to find out whether side singleton is playable (opposite e.g. xxxx or Axxx) or not. This hand is really far away from slam, but with say Axx in ♥ instaed Qxx You would like to make one step forward. I prefer this agreement (it´s Polish style): 3NT are "serious" but shows exactly 5242 shape (or 5332) - reason is, that also responder may have shortness, which can make slam cold 4♣ and 4♥ promising shortness and maximum
  2. and what about this way - in 2/1 and quite natural: 1♥ - 2♣ 2♦ - 3♣ 3♥ (or 3♦) - 4NT 6♣ 2♣ - 2/1 3♣ - 6 good clubs, nonminimum 2/1 (2♠, 2NT or 3NT bids are available for hand with bad clubs or minimum) 3♦ - OK I have 6-5 in reds so in theory 3♦ looks better (can bid 4♥ after 3NT), but I prefer 3♥ with actual hand anyway opener didn´t show any extras in strenght yet 4NT - quantitative with spade stopper; this bid very strongly implies solid clubs (could have bid 3NT instead); its not necessary to raise ♦ with 3 small 6♣ - well partner, I believe in Your bidding
  3. agree with brianshark - I don´t use honours for suit preference unless its inevitable. Now I have 5 "nonhonour" clubs (including 10). The middle one encourage the suit, extremes are suit preference. My choice is the 10.
  4. I take 3H as GF, denying 4+ spades, 5+ clubs, good ♥ stopper and implying ♦ fit (what shall partner do with 3424 or 3334 shape). Anyway small slem is certain (unless we miss 2 keycards) and grand is near.. I´m afraid 4NT rebid could be undestood by partner as quantitative (18-19 bal), so I´m a 4D bidder. Then after 4H or 4S - RKCB, after 5C - 6D, after 5D - pass (partner should cuebid ace if he has any).
  5. 1) 2♥ than pass unless pard superaccepts 2) 3♠ (forcing) 3) 3NT 4) 5♠
  6. Close decision between dbl and 3NT. Playing LEB I´d prefer dbl (and than accept 4♥), because it lets more ways open..
