  1. one more question for board one: do you change your options in this auction 3c double pass ? if your pick up pard is from Europe.(most of the time I cannot bet on the shape that an european pard double for take out). I saw the responses were 4c, 3s 3h rather than 3d.

  7. Thank you all for your responses especially to bid_em_up and goobers. even was not my intention to start a chain reaction of learning conventions from higher lever players than b/i I just took advandtge of mikeh post on reverse and ask for more which was not nice from my part. I recognize this forum as hrothgar says is for debate. BBO has already offer a club for b/i where experts and stars have lessons almost on every topic. The b/i club is free and I recomended to everyone. The only bad part of b/i club is most lessons are schedule during day eastern time which for me makes impossible to attend.(I can read a post when I'm at work but for sure I cannot sign on bbo and watch an hour or maybe 2 at work.) Anyhow I apologize if my post suggest something like that. best regards jocdelevat
  8. Hi all I had post before some hands where the conclusion of using fourth suit forcing convention was the best option. I have to recognize that Im confuse a bit about the meanning of the fourth suit bid. My partners are most intermediates and I had never try to use this convention when we team up because of the confusion that can creates. I have to say that Im playing in a lot of indy tourneys and I saw that even higher level than b/i get confused when 4sf is used. For exemple in last post auction goes: 1d pass 1h 1s 2c pass ? Now here is where I saw the confusion arrive. If I bid 2s how you interpret that : 1. asking pard for a stop in spades 2. having a stop in spades( if i have a stop in spades i don't need to bid 2s right I can bid 2nt however I saw this misunderstanding most on b/i even on few advanced. One point can be raise for 2s instead of 2nt is to let strong hand be declerer.) 3. limit raise in pard suit 4. ask pard to describe more his hand. I would apreciate if someone can describe this convention for b/i like mikeh did for reverse. Thank you in advance.
  9. Dealer: South Vul: All Scoring: IMP ♠ K965 ♥ KJ743 ♦ ♣ KJ63 West North East South - - - 1♥ Pass 4♥ Pass Pass Pass do you open with my hand in first seat? I usually don't open in first or second seat with 11 points however when i had a void and 11 points i always thought is good openning till this board when my pard criticize me for that. I think my pard point that she can have a good hand and try for slam was right but how often that happend? ....................................................................................................................... Dealer: South Vul: NS Scoring: IMP ♠ K4 ♥ 2 ♦ AKJT3 ♣ Q8542 who to blame for this? I blamed my pard lol. this is her hand. do you bid 2c with that hand? Hi all Me and my pard missed slam on this board and I do not know how to get there with these hands. First I thought splinter however I do not know if my pard bid 4d is splinter. We do not play strong jump shift. Maybe fourth suit forcing? Do my pard should rebid spades? I think I pass 2s if he do that.My pard bid 4h after my 2h which I pass. thank you in advance for your advice

One of opponent said thats the strange bid ever seen and he should have call TD. I asked him after what he will bid with my hand he said 4nt to ask for aces? I thought weak 3 preempts should not have an outside ace. What you bid with my hand? Thank you
  14. Hi all I seat south. Few questions: 1.I pass after 2c . do you think I should have bid? 2. As you see partner response in 3 cases is diferent after 1c which one is corect? 3. what do you lead? thank you for advice [hv=d=s&v=n&n=s9742h8743dkq2cj3&s=sat8hakt5dj4cq954]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1.the other table West North East South - - - 1♣ Pass 1NT 3♣ Pass Pass Pass 2.my table West North East South Pass Pass Pass 1♣ Pass 1♠ 2♣ Pass Pass Pass [/font] 3. 15. 1. north Q982 south K1075 how you play for one looser? 2. suppose you south and your LHO double to take out one of the other suit of yours. does this change your play for this combination? thank you for your advice
  16. I like to kibitz however I sugested before that in Yahoo bridge you have the option to hide your hand from kibitzers. I think this will improve the safety of players who are concern about kibitzers.
  17. Thank you all. This was the board. [hv=d=s&v=a&n=s743hkqt3d9caqj84&w=sa52hj92d874ct762&e=skqj6ha87dakt65c3&s=st98h654dqj32ck95]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] West North East South - - - Pass Pass 1♣ Dbl Pass 1NT Pass 3NT Pass Pass Pass My partner really got excited with my 1nt bid. The idea of 1d is great to discourage partner. Anyhow I'm not sure if I were in his shoes I will jump to game with that hand and a passed partner.
  18. [hv=d=e&v=a&s=sa52hj92d874ct762]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] West North East South - - Pass Pass 1♣ Dbl Pass ? Hi all Do you pass here? if not what you bid? Thank you for advice Joc
  19. I suppose is related to the opps connection. I saw that for slow opps during play and biding response to claim will be slow too.
  20. Depends on my mood. Sometimes if my partner leave or has connection problem I would like to have a partner same level of mine. I tried before to choose my sub however I suppose TD was faster or didn't like my option because i receive an error subbing. I had to do this 2 times in the same tourney and each time Td choose an expert level sub from same country(where players is like a reflex to criticise their pard in front of opps).

I bid 4s going down 1. The bid 3nt after 1c made me suspicious and I bid 4s so I thought maybe they have some minors fit but how they know about stopers in majors. I look to the movie after that and I think I understand his 3nt even looks more like poker. This is a board when is easy to blame opponents for unortodox metods however his hand looks good for a bluff. I took a look at my hands to see how this was bid at the other 14 tables and those was the 15 bids and scores for this board. 4♥xE-3 800 3NxxS= 800 3NS= 400 3NN= 400 4♠xE-1 200 4♠xE-1 200 3♠xE-1 200 3♣S= 110 4♣S-1 -50 4♣S-1 -50 5♣S-2 -100 4♣xS-1 -100 5♣xS-2 -300 5♣xS-2 -300 6♣xN-3 -500

My pard open 1nt and the opponnet overcall 2h alerted as natural overcall. I didn't call td after hand because didn't have time to look at movie however asked after if that call 2h is correct. My opinion is not because mislead my play as declarer where points are. I think 2h should be alerted as weak. I knew the other opponent has spades for his x. Td said is ok even when I asked if she will bid 2h with 6 points over 1nt(strong) she respond sometimes you can find a lunatic for that. What's your opinion? best regards Joc
  24. Suppose your opponrents play 3nt and you have king and queen of spades without any guard how you signal to your pard that you have both. My pard led spade after a lot of tricks and spade was never played what you play q or k? I suppose you signal before however in a pick up pard carding not always works. Thank you in advance for your advice
