Benito Garozzo was down one.
jocdelevat replied to Trumpace's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Maybe he was watching a movie during play or he was tired. I see some problems for entry in dummy hand however you need only one finnese to take if you trump out first and run hearts discard a d or a c.. -

I pass 2d and when west bid 4c I realize and regret not biding 2s. My pard was expert and he made 5d with a bad defense(led club) by opps however 4s makes either. -
if b/i plus adv players cannot figure out why was claim they should save the hand and check it later. it will be a good exercise too.

I count 4 spades 3diamonds 2 clubs and 1heart. I think the key here is east doesn't have enough minors to return for the fourth trick. trick1 i took with ace heart trick2 i play q club forcing king and took with ace trick 3 low spade and op take with ace spade trick 4 op leads low heart and i discard a diamond op take with spade. From here anything west lead i make: if club i play jack then one round trump and low to diamond then play heart where i discard second diamond. if west play trump is the same play just reverse clubs with spades. if he play diamond i take it then play trump then jack club and go back to dumy with diamonda nd again a heart where i discard second diamond. trick 4 if op play both high hearts i discard 2 diamonds then ruff with j and take trumps out and i have 10 heart good when i can discard a club. At table i will be down for sure. Here I took Free idea that declerer is right if play low spade from dummy. At table it will never come to mind to play low spade from dummy when i have the sequence of kqj.

Common suit combination
jocdelevat replied to han's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
I play ace first then lead smal towards jack most of the time. If one entry to hand I play small towards T if cover I let it go. If rho opened 2d weak i play jack towards ace T if get cover i put ace. -

5 biggest mistakes
jocdelevat replied to Apollo81's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Im b/i however I can say what i consider most 5 comon mistakes of my partners(most of them b/i like me). 1. not playing long suit first on nt contracts because of one or 2 looser in that suit or the suit is poor in honors. 2. taking trump out when is 4/4 with other suits not cover or very very weak. plus as oposite to this not taking trump out first when they have a running suit or good cover of other suits. 3. do not know the range to overcall or support.(this one I think I fail too on support pard suit on competitive auction. Murphy law =when I bid I should not and when I do not bid I should have bid). 4.jump to 4nt after pard open if they have an open hand with support for pard. 5.when defending after few tricks never lead the logical suit remaining. -

Hi all I play 1nt 15 -17 hcp for openning bid and second seat overcall however I do not know 1.how many hcp you need to overcall 1nt in these 3 auctions.: A. pass pass 1x 1NT B. 1x pass pass 1NT C. 1x pass 1y 1NT 2.Does the 1nt overcall should be explain if the range in these auctions is not the same with what I have in my cc? Thank you in advance for your advice.

friendliness reputation system
jocdelevat replied to extrasolid's topic in Suggestions for the Software
You can use edit player notes by right click on player id and edit whatever you want there, For exemple if z player leaves after bad results you can put a note so next time you''ll not accept him/her at your table. -
Discussion hand - continued
jocdelevat replied to pclayton's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
I have hard time reading opps patern hands however the sum of our points plus opener leaves LHO zero out or maybe 1 point. I can count 8 clear winners and see communication problem. Plan 1. I play K diamond and if both opps follow I will continue with ace and q and then give a diamond in case 4-1. Then the moment i got lead I take the heart honor with ace then play remaning diamonds and lead a spade to aq. So I should have 5diamonds 2 spades and 2hearts. Plan 2. If one op doesn't follow diamond so diamonds 5-0 .I pray lol. I was trying to solve with 5/0 diamonds but got no way out. I thought more for plan2. if diamonds 5/0 should be LHO so same as plan 1: kd first then smal and put 9 for second diamond if LHO doesn't play j or ten. If diamonds 5/0 with rho then really is no way out. -
When it looks easy ...
jocdelevat replied to Walddk's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
If trump is not 4-0 I take trump out and play clubs. if 4-1 I ruff one club. On the last club I will discard a heart. -

Pass 5NT Pass Pass Pass I was east in a teammatch against a good advanced pair and my pard level expert. I recognize that after my 2d the rest of my pard bids i didn't understand. I made a big mistake by not responding to his kings asking. I made 5nt and the other table made 3nt +2 however we mised slam, i got my pard a bit upset and bad comment from op. 1.can you please say the corect biding and the mistakes by east and west. 2.did west really need it to know where is the other king? 3.How do you balance between your judgement and "the trust your partner" thing. 4.One of the opps made a comment to put me in a bad spot(which was not necesary. I was the weak player at table) which he always do. I responded before to him however here in bbo I avoid to do it. How do you respond to those kind of opps.

The really thing is I don't know what means 2nt in direct seat after a openning weak 2. Some of my pickup partners took it as unsual2nt and some told me to double because I have 4 hearts like in this exemple. Here i do not know what to bid after 3c and im not sure 2nt. my pard says to double for take out with this hand because I have 4hearts. Anyhow I think his bid 3c was wrong. This was my pard hand: Dealer: West Vul: None Scoring: IMP[/hv] Thank you in advance for your advice
