my 2cents here: 1. I'm surprised by Han who got caught with something like this. He is one of the posters with no blah blah or nonsense. Always well thought posts.(sometimes even funny) 2. if the title is good for water cooler should be good for any other section of this forum. 3. I cannot see how and adult can be offended by that expression except if his kid is reading the bridge section however the kid can read the water cooler too. I can see the damage done to a kid that red that title then go to school and tell his teacher that. (thinking is right reading from a site his parent let him). 4. I think the expression as a contraexmple to the title like "How big are your tits" is offending even in water cooler. 5. the title of poster is well know expression even in dictionaries translated as courage even if it is categorize as a vulgar slang. In the specific post was no doubt about the meanning. 6. if the poster said sorry and was for the first time then we should be ok and forget about. 7. too much noise for a little thing. noone is perfect.

I play most in those free tourneys and sometime I got and invite and then when tourney is about to start the partner withdraw with no escuse and disapear from lobby. First I thought it may be a joker however it seems like become more often. I never write the nicknames down however is always a diferent one. I'm curios if it is a way to stop this.

sorry I have no agreement about what 2s mean neither if 1nt can be with 5 card major. I play with pick up partners most of them intermediates. In the past I tried to avoid open 1nt with 5 card major because imo most b//i do not play that. I tried with this hand to see what comes up and I recognize I didn't know to bid after 2s. I suppose 2h doesn't denny 4 spades so thats why 2s. I was curios in whats standard in this auction.

I posted the 2 hands because for some time I got invited to play in tourney by players with higher level than mine and then receice a lot of criticism from them during the tourney. I do not understand why someone make an invitation to a weak player then gets upset about his play. Why he didn't invite a player same level as him or better. I'm open to advice and you can even be rude if you are right about what you are saying then I do not care. I receiced that "advice" for the second hand(posted here) and I thought was something I didn't know because I made contract. Why criticize for a mistake that didn't exist especially when you know I'm the weaker player and you invited me. The first hand posted here I played as he require and open 1d then opps overcall even twice and bid as I never open. I can say we got lucki to set them -1 in their 2sx contract.

He played very well during the whole tourney imo however I never heard this theory before.

I'm sorry for my b/i advice. I know you are looking for expert advice. Imo the most important thing is to have a regular partnership then it is easy to play and learn whatever you want. If you don't have a regular parnership I do not think 2/1 will be good for your level. I disagree with you that most b/i have in their profile 2/1. You'll not find a b/i pick up partner if you put in your profile 2/1 only. I play a lot with b/i pick up partners and I didn't see too many playing 2/1. I think is better before the switch to have some experience with the conventions like 4sf, nmf, inverted minors etc in a system that you know than in a system you try to learn.

I didn't have this hand. I was the op. I posted because the final contract was 4s x by us(made it) and her pard asked why she opened 1h with 10 hcp and her answer was 6 loosers hand.

Problems like this I think are more interesting for b/i if we replace "try to defend" with "try to fill in the reamaning hands"(to visualize your pard and op hand). I 'm not good as visualizing hands and I can bet most b/i players don't. So here how many points and distrib of pard hand? then how about the op with 3d. So I think the 3d bider may have 3361 3271 and 7-8 points. So I play ak spade then a heart and hope pard retun a heart then i do not know which suit is better club or spade. both has pro and cons. I'm not good at visualize hands so I just made a try.
