  1. 9 or 10 minutes ago, I have such a hand. S ** H *** D ** C J109** a pair of polish players bid 2C - ? - ? - ? - 4N - ? - ? - 6C - - ?(me) I do not think 6C will make, so I just pass. Now I should lead, I guess they are using polish club. so I just ask the meaning of their bidding. One player refused to answer my quesions, then ...... I can not believe my eyes!!!! he REMOVED me!!! when I try to relogin the table, I found he just changed the last bidding from 6C to 6S! How can he do this? Even without asking for undo! I played a few hands before this hand with the pair, I think I was polite and patient. The pair at least ask for undo three or four times before, I always say YES, (satirely, even on this hand where he removed me at last, they ask for undo 4C instead of 4NT, I also say yes without hesitation) This is beyond a man's tolerance. The host's name is opornik_12 (poish)
  2. 1NT is not bad. I think your P should not show her H suit. As for her double. My style is different but I can understand her style. Her double is OK.
  3. 3C or 4C do not mean "I have 2 bad choice and do not know what is worse"?
  4. 2C - 2D - 2S - 3H - ? Well, If you have a fixed P and he (or she) understand you as you know yourself, you can bid anything you like instead 4C. or else, you can bid 4C, show you suit and then bid 5H Also a show of your courage to OPPs :) "you are aware that a positive response does not require much more than a working king" Seems not a good way.
  5. Yes, Mike Lawrence told everything you need to know about takeout doubles. I strongly recommend you to read his books.
  6. Guess and pray! LOL I have observed many examples in real bidding world. It is the fact.
  7. For 6-5 hand: 1) NEVER! 2) NEVER! 3) if some Itlian system (for example, Italian Diamond), my answer is "ALWAYS". 4) but my answer will never be "sometimes" or "it depends" 5) key point, suit length is much more important than points! for 5-5 hand: ... I think many books have given good opinions. if you have a S suit and C suit for example, S AK*** H * D ** C AQ*** I prefer open bid 1S. Yes, open bid 1C is also OK if you are an expert and do not use simple SAYC, or if in the real bidding world your OPPs are not aggressive like this way, 1C 2H - - ?
  8. pass If I am your P, I will not bid 4S with such a hand S AK***** H * D K** C ** or else, maybe you bid 5S? (or 4NT? if the SK equals A) Then PRAY if your contract reaches 6S! Hope god will let OPP lead H when your P has such a hand S AK****** H * D ** C J * or OPP will NOT lead H with such a hand S AK****** H ** D * C J * BTW: When your P or you have a long &strong suit, it is possibily meaningless to count the points (see above hand).
  9. Great Question! You actually touch one of the most important points in SAYC. There are 6 key points: 1) pass instead open bid. If with such a hand S ×× H ×× D KJ×× C AK××× 2) rebid 1NT S ×× H ×× D KQ× C AKJ××× 1C 1H 1NT 3) support P's suit S × H ××× D KQ×× C AKJ×× 1C 1H 2H 4) rebid 2c only you have 6 card suit S * H Q** D K×× C AQJ××× 1C 1S 2C 5) (some experts) will rebid 2C with such a hand instead above hand. S K×× H A×× D × C AK×××× because they do not want to miss 3NT when P has such a hand. S A** H **** D J10** C Q* 6) change your system(or part of your system) . Many experts prefer this way.
  10. I have such a hand, S J×× H A××× D Q×× C Q×× My P open bid 1C then 1C - 1H - 2D - 2NT - 3D - ? I bid 6C, My P's hand S * H * D AK*** C KJ10*** My P is angry to me :) what's wrong?
