Which method is best for counting high card points for hand evaluation? Anyone doing these methods in the tournaments? Is there any other methods? Zar point count: Calculating the Zar Points has 2 parts – calculating the High-card Points (HP) and the Distribution Points (DP). For the high-card points we use the 6-4-2-1 scheme which adds the sum of your controls (A=2, K=1) to your standard Milton HCP, in the 4-3-2-1 scheme (A=4, K=3, Q=2, J=1). The High-card Zar points (HC) you are already very familiar with (Milton HCP + Controls or 6- 4-2-1) - The difference between the lengths of the Longest and the Shortest suits (we call it S2) - The sum of the lengths of the Longest 2 suits (we call it L2); That’s all: HC + S2 + L2. Adjustments to LTC include: A J 10 [x...] = 1.5 losers, Q x x = 2.5 losers, while J 10 x = 3 losers and Q x= 2 losers, but are a "plus".

[hv=pc=n&e=sa9hak73dqj6ckq98&d=s&v=0&b=11&a=3dpp?]133|200[/hv] What is the bid here? Is it dbl or 3NT?

1NT range 15-17 19 out of 73 teams downgraded the hand with 18HCP. Any reasons? How to stop and recognize this hand is not a slam hand?

Is the sever crashed? sat March 3rd 8pm EST? suggest to announce in the BBO forum in the future.

Just like auto play singleton, there should be auto greetings. The message can be custom or standard text.

Yes. We both accepted the claim without looking the rest of the cards, trusting the opponents claimed fair. This was speed ball tourney. Question? Is there any redress for on line tournament? What is the rule for ACBL tourney?
-
What is the ruling for incorrect claim? At that stage, opponents claimed and accepted without looking at the cards. At the end, if I play ♠, the contract can be set. If incorrect claim is accepted, is there anyway to correct the score by TD. Is the score stands or is any correction possible at later stage? This was informed to TD during the tournament, to which I never got any answer.

using this link, I can only print frame by frame. Look in print preview after opening the file. It takes long time. Is there anyway to export to excel for these entire file FD cards?

Only on double dummy this can make 6 on 6♠lead. Because not enough entries to make 6. [hv=pc=n&s=sak9872hkdt97ck95&w=st6hajt32dkj2ct62&n=sqj5h975daq653c73&e=s43hq864d84caqj84&d=n&v=0&b=17&a=pp1sp2c(Forgot%20to%20alert%21)p4sppp&p=s6s5s3s7dtdjdqd4sjs4skstd9dkdad8d3c8d7d2s2h3sqh4d6c4hkh2d5h6c5c2c3cac9c6cqckctc7sahth5cjs9hjh7h8s8hah9]399|300[/hv] This line of play is difficult to think at the table to make 6. If two rounds of trumps played at trick 1 and 2 and then, defense will find two tricks. Looks like 6♣ was led and east failed to switch to ♥ and then rewarded after complaining of alert situation.
-
Is it Bulletin error? Is it ruling NS 4♠ making 5♠ for 450 score. Table score NS 480 is reversed to 450 for NS. Bad bridge play by east is rewarded here by the ruling committee.

Is it lead out of turn? who is the declarer?

The Fredin Double Revisited by Jos Jacobs This is what happened here on Wednesday evening: NS +1630. There is a convention nowadays against this sort of auctions. A double after such wild bidding simply asks for a lead in the higher of the two relevant suits. So the combination of the double of 6NT, followed by a pass of 7 would neatly solve the E/W problem.[hv=pc=n&s=sk7hakq752dqcj942&w=s542h43dakj97ct63&n=saq86htd8432cakq7&e=sjt93hj986dt65c85&d=e&v=0&b=30&a=p1hp2c(Forcing relay)p2n(nonminimum with good !H)p3c(Tell me more)p3h(6!H and 4!C)p6n(sign off)ppd7c(run out)ppdppp {North now realised that against 7!C, a known 4-4 fit, the doublers partner would be on lead and thus might have a problem. Maybe, he also realised that whenever you ran from such a double, going to 7!C, would give you the greatest chance of success, historically speaking... Helmich proved absolutely right when East duly led the J!S.}]499|500[/hv] Reference page 5 At 7 level run-out bid after 6nt, dbl shows lead ♠ and pass shows lead ♦, since ♥ and ♣ are shown by opponents. What is the name of this convention?

Bermuda Bowl Finals--
A2003 replied to Flem72's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
USA2 lost 10 or more IMPS 17 times. Netherlands lost 10 or more IMPS 9 times. If it is a (BAM) board a match game, USA2 wins 65 to 63. USA2 won 44 boards. Netherlands won 42 boards. Rest 42 boards tie. Looks like they lost it in session 3 after leading well in session 1 and 2. -
Click on constructive. Pass will appear and u can write any meaning you want in the "PASS" bid..

Failed to take winners.

There is a "sort by category" feature. May be that will help.

I could not listen the voice clearly. I moved to ten still was not enough. Is there a system test for this prior to the next event? So, I could test and listen to the voice. Thanks.

Adding BBO ID within bracket along with their name of the player in Vugraph will be a help to track/watch their games when they play in BBO.

How to be a bridge expert
A2003 replied to mr1303's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
How to become from Expert to Novice level? Even if I am quiet at the table, opponents are questioning about the bid which drags into answer something. How to avoid answering questions initiated by opponents and from partner? -
Advanced Robot. why it is ruffing out ♣ winners?

Gib bidding and play why GIB chooses to ruff !C winners? Is it correct that GIB plays no Responsive double? Why GIB choose to bid 2♠weak trumps instead of 2♥ strong trumps? what is the reason to play 3♥ and then 4♥? Normal play is 4 and then 3 rt?
