Can anything be done about GIB's horrible opening leads ? In particular, their penchant for leading singleton honors, including the stiff trump K. They also seem to lead H from Hx versus NT even when holding a solid sequence in another suit (both suits unbid).

My wife and I have been playing on the old downloadable version of BBO for a long time. We decided to try the web version and discovered that for some reason we are unable to claim as the claim button stays grayed out. We have tried claiming from both our PC's. Even if you are down to 1 trick to play and hold the only outstanding trump, you can't claim. We are both using windows7. I'm running the latest version of Firefox and she is using the latest version of IE. No problems when using the downloadable version. Suggestions ?

In her book I Love This Game published in 2006, Sabine Auken argues that the most efficient defensive bidding scheme versus a strong club will not use ambiguous bids. She must have changed her mind because her cc for the '09 Venice cup shows several suction style bids. So, I would like to know what forum members prefer over strong club-known or unkown suit(s) and why?
