  1. Surely I am not the only person who hates being booted. I am convinced everyone hates it. If we all wanted to be host, we would forever be waiting for players.
  2. Of course booters are marked as enemies, as are rude players, and avoided, but that does not alleviate the distress one feels upon being booted by the next person.
  3. Isn't everyone frustrated when one or both opponents leave in the middle of a hand to join a tourney? I sure am. We have wasted our energy on this hand and have to redeal for a new declarer/defender/bidder. I have had invites for tourneys and ask to give me 5 mins to finish the hand and leave, but the tourney host often disregards this request. It would be so much better if one could not be seated at the tourney until one is in the "tourney room". Many players play a few hands waiting for a tourney, then are whisked away in the middle, leaving the table frustrated. They should wait in the tourney room, not at a table playing.
  4. The next best thing would be to give the booting host a popup window warning that excessive booting will have consequences, does he wish to proceed............ I have never had a satisfactor result from BBO's "abuse" line, and rude behaviour at the table continues and seems more frequent.
  5. It is very distressing to suddenly find yourself booted for no reason. I have booted players myself for being rude, after warning them. I suggest some rules for booting: Booting may only take place for rude, critical or insulting behaviour, or for destructive bridge, such as bidding 7NT with garbage, or psyching 3 times. Before booting, the offender should receive a warning. If the offender continues to offend, he/she may be booted. The table should receive a message that the player has been removed when any booting takes place (especially for no reason) so the other players do not think the booted player has rudely left. The host should email BBO's booting department (to be created) to explain his action, and include the chat or other relevant reason for his action. If a host boots more than, say, twice a week without adequate reason, he should be prevented from hosting for a period of time, say, 3 months.
  6. I also have a long list of enemies, people who are rude, terrible players, or leave in the middle of a hand, so I can avoid these. I will certainly try using the escape key. Koba
  7. I have an awful lot of "friends" marked in order to enable me to find a suitable partner quickly. I do not want to be notified when each and every one logs in, but suggest we have 2 categories of "friends", adding a "special friends" category of people we chat with. I would want to be notified of the arrival of "special friends", not regular "friends". I would also like to see the friend login popup box moved to an out-of-the-way place, such as the right hand area of the chat box, rather than on top of the bidding box, where the frequent logins obliterate every bidding sequence at leat once.
