  1. After (2♥)-dbl-(pass)-2NT*-(pass)-3♣*-(pass), 3♠ is inviting with spades, but what would you think of it after (2♥)-dbl-(pass)-2NT*-(pass)-3♥*-(pass). Still the same? What's the difference here between 3♠ and 4♠ here?
  2. You mean http://online.bridgebase.com/myhands/index.php ?
  3. [hv=n=skqjtxxhakxdaxxcx&s=sahqtxxdkjxxxckqx]133|200|Scoring: ????[/hv] Playing Fantunes I got to hold this hand in South. Since the auction likely should not be different from any other natural system I decided to post it here. Partner opened 1♠ and I responded 2♦ (GF) and the bidding went on 2♠-3♥-4♦, without knowing partner's extra strength, I now decided that 4♠ would be the place to play, but partner continued 4NT (showing slam interest and even keycards), we ended up in playing 7♦, which went down a lot. Of course 6NT was a laydown and we would have reached it easily, but I assumed that spades were the agreed suit and partner that diamonds and that lead us to wrong tracks. Most of the problems would not have been there of course if I had bid 2NT or 3NT instead of 3♥, but.. My question is, that are there any general rules, when the suit is agreed and cuebidding starts? For example, does 1♠-2♥-3♥-3♠ show spades or is it a cuebid? What about 1♦-2♥-2♠-3♥-4♦?
  4. I recently played a team match and declarer claimed all tricks. I accepted, but my partner got disconnected and he was subbed. The problem was that the substitute player couldn't see the claim box any more and declarer couldn't cancel the claim also, so we got stuck and had to cancel the match.
  5. Sorry, forgot to mention, partner had bid hearts after west opened with strong 1♣ And the contract is not 6NT but 7♦ by East as I already mentioned in 1st post.
  6. [hv=d=w&v=n&n=sxxhkjxxxdjxcjxxx&w=saxhq8xdakxcakqxx&e=skqjxhaxxdqtxxcxx&s=sxxxxxht9dxxxxcxx]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Say you play 3rd/5th leads (thus high from doubleton) and lead heart ten against 7♦. Declarer plays on a club-heart squeeze and fails, because you hold heart 9, but if you had Tx, you'd also lead ten and then the squeeze would work. So is it profitable to lead low from doubleton (even Jx and higher) against slams or is it just about this one deal?
  7. If you have to access BBO through a firewall, the firewall has to be configured to let the program, "NetBridgeVu.exe" access the Internet. Note that the BBO client connects to bbo.bridgebase.com on port 9999 using tcp. from http://www.bridgebase.com/help/2/connections.html
  8. No, Ireland's flag is green, white and orange. The National Flag is a tricolour of green, white and orange. The green represents the older Gaelic and Anglo-Norman element in the population, the orange the Protestant supporters of William of Orange, while the white represents a lasting peace between the two traditions. http://www.irlgov.ie/aboutireland/eng/irstate.asp
  9. Low to ten is correct. If hearts are 3-3, it doesn't matter whether to lead J or 2, but more likely they are 4-2. If West has Kx and East Qxxx and you lead J, it will lose to K and you have only one entry to repeat the finesse and eventually you'll lose trick to Q too. If both opponents play low now, you are forced to guess the position. If you are playing vs. beginners, it's probably best to go to dummy and repeat the finesse, if against experts, cashing A might be correct play.
  10. To me, the system of Fantoni and Nunes seems quite natural, yet they have red sticker on their CC. Why so? Because 1♣ opening can have only 2 clubs (when balanced)? :P
  11. test: ♠♣♥♦ test2: ♠♣♥♦ hm, partially works for me, copied from character map under arial font firefox displays all symbols ie lacks diamond
  12. If 1NT is 12-15 and 1D is natural unbalanced, then what is 1D-1M-1NT/2C/2D?
  13. Estonian ♠ pada (some call it "poti", but this is not official) ♥ ärtu ♦ ruutu ♣ risti
  14. I have played MOSCITO for some time now and decided to change some things. Relays after 1NT opening are always slow and giving too much information about openers hand, so I have learned Heeman and Keri (partially). Now I have to make a decision which one to take and which one to leave. Since I have'nt played them in real-life situations yet, I'm asking for your opininon. Which one of these methods is better (or is it strictly matter of taste)? Second question is about escaping from weak 1NT doubled. Is it useful or necessary when playing MPs? I know that you should not be happy when you get occasional -300s or -500s at IMPs, but MPs are whole different story.
