  1. Here's a quick survey: There're 36 stars right now logged-in BBO, of which 13 of them do not rate themself (private), 7 of them claim as World Class, 12 experts, 3 Advanced and 1 Beginner! The beginner is a Japanese. So we can see more issues involved here, nation, culture, race..... shall we tolerate difference as much as we can:)
  2. Hard to keep silent, but even harder to decide run or not after 2H been doubled. So, not happy, I would pass.
  3. With a few of your listed items, someone would claim themself World Class:) Very intersting statistic done by Inquiry. Maybe BBO will introduce an auto evluation system in future? No need to be a must, but could be helpful:)
  4. Thanks a lot Uday! I'm just using this id so there would be no more trouble. :( :D
  5. Thanks, Rain. I've done this already, latest Kapaski viruscan. I'm using vista, the popup comes in IE. I noticed that when there're no AD on the right bottom coner of BBO interface, there won't be pop-up ADs. I once suspected it could be my mouse, but I've changed. Pop up consistant.
  6. I dont know if it is reported before. My bbo pop up AD from time to time. It's quite annoying because when this happen, it just keep poping up every a few minutes until there are tens of POP-UPs! I think it should not be desinated by BBO and I really appreciate someone can advice what's wrong with it. Thanks, BTW, pop-up comes in pair, bridge style. Here're 1 of those pairs: http://ads.bridgebase.com/common/ads/locat...?f=6693&r2=583& http://ads.bridgebase.com/common/ads/locat...?f=6693&r2=583&
  7. Simple and touching story. Best wishes to you!
  8. Hmmm...ok, other half of the same question. Everybody vulnerable. You have xx xx T8xxx xxxx Auction is as listed above. What is your call? I hate pard's double at that time. As he did not make a strong michaels cuebid, I would have to bid 3C. I was thinking 'the lowest NT' bid for NOTHING could be useful.
  9. I'd rather believe Pard have 3343. If he had 4333, my RHO appears insane --- leaving his pd in 42 doubled? Whatever, Pard's second double could be a mixer: stay or go? I was in the bottom, so I left. I wonder, even ACBL standard, there's 100% penalty double at level 1. Yes, I recognized that because of previous 1H bid made 2C confusing: is it a new suit showing some decent cards or the cheapest bid showing nothing? Let change the bidding a little bit: 1D----dbl-----pass-----2C 2D----dbl-----pass-----?? We still have a problem of what to bid. 2H/S could 54, 3C.....I dont know.
  10. I got confused with the following sequence and try to find out which is 'right' in common (not discussed). 1♦----dbl----pass----1♥ 1♠----dbl----pass----? I had: T86 964 865 T532. Both Vul. Actually, pard has alternative as he had a 24hcp balanced hand. But that's not the point. I wondered 2H could be the least right thing, just put it there in case anyone does has agreement for that. Pass...... never for me too.
  11. With tolerant pard, 4♠; with no-so-tolerant pard, 4♠ and hope would not screwed by bad lucky. :)
  12. Good point. Would the contract stop on 4C? Not likely. In your system, dbl showing 2 suiter also 4D, which is for stronger hand?
  13. Hello BBFers, Red vs white I was holding: S:- H:KJT9xx D:Kx C:AQJTx LHO opened and the bidding went: 1S---pass---3D*----3S* 4S---pass---pass---dbl*(p/c, tooked too good on DK) pass--5C// 3D alerted as fitting jump with value. Without agreement with pard, I hope pard take 3S as either single long minor suit or sharp two suiter. Pard argued laterly that 3S was asking stop for 3NT only and his 5C is asking for my suit. After 3S: double after there would be t/o as 3D was real suit. direct 3NT would be remain to play, gambling? If so, what would 3H follows by 5C refer to? better hand? I'm not sure whether I took it right or not. Any sysmetical thinking? Merry Xmas, Jack
