  1. Thank you for the reply. Replacing &&'s with and's worked wonders. :D
  2. I wanted to practice 2NT bidding with my partner and used these settings: NS HCP: 27-36 S HCP: 19-22 N HCP: 8-15 S distribution: 2-5 cards in each suit N distribution: 0-11 cards in each suit Dealer: S The first 2 dealt hands were OK but subsequent hands did not meet the specifications. When I switched on 'Use these settings for Dealer' I got Error generating deals messages. Can anyone cast a light on this? TIA Gabor Szots
  3. OK, thanks. I must have misunderstood something.
  4. Yes, I have completed 10 tournaments now, as suggested by you and Aurora at BBO, who was very helpful in explaining me the working of TCR. However, I have learned that my TCR will disappear as soon as I haven't played for 2 months. In that case I will have to play 10 tournaments which I don't intended to play in, just to have a TCR again. The purpose of this escapes me completely. Have I become unreliable because of the break?
  5. Almost always, when I want to register to a tournament, I am denied because of low historic completion rate. I can't understand why because: 1. I have never quitted a tournament. 2. I have completed 9 tournaments recently, so even if I quit the next one, my completion rate will be 90%. I was told by a yellow that I need to complete 10 tournaments. But how can I do that if I am always denied? Unconditional tournaments are very rare. Besides, although I did not play for several years, I did participate at tournaments before that but it seems those do not count, my history must have been cleared. Let me add that in my profile I can see that my board completion rate is 100%. Is that not enough? I hope I will have the required 10 this evening but the way this is dealt with does not feel right. Cheers to all, Gabor Szots
  6. When I start the new client it automatically sets my native Hungarian as its language. However, I would like to use it in English. I used to use the lang=en switch in the command line but it does not seem to work any more or I have forgotten the syntax. Your help would be appreciated.
  7. Yesterday (9th October) I came home after work only to find there was no written commentary in the closed room of the semifinal (3rd segment). This self-assigning method of BBO does not seem to work perfectly. I saw several commentators in the open room, maybe a couple of them could have been spared. Is there not a coordinator taking care of this? Roland Wald used to do a magnificent job arranging commentators. Gábor Szőts
  8. 4♣ or 4♦ is not forcing here. I'd bid 4♥ or simply 5♣.
  9. In fact I did just that to a commentator before I wrote this post and, all credit to him, he apologized and promised he'd at least try.
  10. There is one more thing I'd like to ask for. Some commentators often use u for you, r for are, 2 for to, 4 for for, etc. As a non-native English speaker, I have great difficulties reading such sentences. So please, if you possibly can, use the whole word instead of those short forms. BTW, 2 and 4 in the above sense are grammatically improper AFAIK (!) as they have long vowels in them.
  11. Both times I received 2 automated replies of which the 2nd one was: "A ticket has been opened regarding your issue." I may be impatient. The first reply came 12, the second one 6 days ago. Maybe it takes more time to process a request.
  12. Hi all, Recently I have sent 2 e-mails to the above address but got only automated replies. Can anyone tell me if this address is still available to ask for support?
  13. Thanks for the congratulations. ;) However, my partner at winning the cup, although called Csaba (Czímer) is 'csabi' on BBO. BTW, occassionally he is also a vugraph commentator.
  14. My solution is to log in under a secret name when I am unavailable or have no desire for commentating.
