  1. 3S at favorable in my partnerships can be real crap, so I will pass and not hang partner. If we miss game, next hand. Peter
  2. As East, I would have bid 2S instead of X, but X isn't terrible. I wouldn't pass. If I did, I would have a penalty pass of 2D. For me, 3C doesn't show extras in this auction, after the X, but it doesn't deny them either, 3NT is reasonable. Stuff happens, don't beat yourself or partner up over this hand. Peter
  3. Pass in the first case, 3C in the second. In the first case I would bid 1NT the first time around. Peter
  4. It will be sooner than you think. Next November, you will vote for Hillary. Now, lie back, breathe deeply, close your eyes, and smile. Peter
  5. Most people, of course, pass it more than 1% of the time. Peter
  6. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2007/...re-kicking-ass/ Peter
  7. That depends on whether it's forcing. You started out saaying yes, now it seems you say no, but rarely passed. In the first case it's alertable, since it's not the standard agreement, in the second it is not. Peter
  8. Dude, you're not backpedalling, you're turning somersaults with your bicycle! Totally awesome! Peter
  9. From the pro-war Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...ml?hpid=topnews The Bush adminstration seems to be constututionally incapable of telling the truth. Peter
  10. 1H in the partnership which permits it, 1NT otherwise, though passing is close in that case. Peter
  11. Non forcing isn't a command to pass :P In my experience 1x-1y-2NT is passed between 10%-15% of the time, by opps as well as my partnerships. Peter
