  1. I am a regular user of BBO and think it is a wonderful system. I normally play in Casual and go to the first seat available. In recent months I have been unhappy about the conduct of players. My grips are 1) Lack of information on their description and often no convention card. 2) Arrive and leave immediately, surely if you wish play it takes time to sum up the opposition and partner 3) Departing withour any notice and sometimes during a contract. I always say this is my last hands tks all and depart after it has finished 4) I have also been booted off for no apparent reason but it is difficult to stop this. My radical suggestion is that there are two sections in casual. One as is and second where it is manatory to have a full description and convention card and agree to being polite and friendly. Anyone else support this view?
  2. It has taken me several attempts to find the Forum page. It is hidden away as a last item on the messages screen and hidden under the initials BBF (which could be a local Boxing Federation). Surely Forums should have a title of their own and displayed as an option in say Messages as a heading alongside News Chat and Mail. This would be a great help for newcomers to the site who should be encouraged to go to forums and understand the etiquette expected of BBO members

  4. Like many players I look forward to the challenge of a tournament. I look at the "free tournaments" for my partner and I and select one which is suitable only to be told I am not a member of the group of players who can play. I then go back and select another tournament only to find the exact same reply. Please please make it mandatory for open or closed tournaments to be described as such in the title line. This could also be indicated by a different text colour and will promote more "free open" tournaments as well as saving time and effort by game seekers
  5. I am in support of this suggestion. It is simple good manners to advise a player of things which are upsetting the host. Continued infringement will justify removal. While on the subject of manners I wish all players have at least a minimum convention card. If I was running a club this would be a pre requisite for play. Perhaps this can be added to the software! In addition if you are going to leave advise everyone a hand before leaving - it is just good manners to do these things!!
  6. I quite often with my partner would like to enter a pairs tournament. When you look ay the list of available tournaments there is nothing to show if they are restricted. It would be a great help if any non restricted tournaments can be in a different colour or text (such as italics). It then becomes a simple matter to select rather than keep trying to enter event after event only to be told it is restricted membership.
  7. Hi. This is my first post. I am thoroughly enjoying BBO and its many playing opportunities. I am disappointed with a number of players I come across. My problem is their bad manners. I expect each player to arrive a a table with a convention card. I also expect them to have a name. Their assessment of their own skills is sometimes very suspect. I expect players to give at least 1 boards notice of their intention to leave. These are all basic good manners sadly lacking with many members. I suggest BBO introduces a "good practice" section which every person signs up to when they join.(this could also be sent out to existing members as a refresher)
