  1. I just can not believe that this hand comes under "interesting " deals.May be for Chess players.
  2. The 2 ♥ bid makes the play a wee bit easy.Should be happy making nine tricks and not worry about a nonexistent tenth trick.
  3. The fact remains fact.why did your partner not lead the DQ to start with. Why did he/she leave everything for your imagination?
  4. Doubling 3 ♥ was too adventurous.(after opening a flat 15 HCP NT.(the heart Q was a useless 2HCP).To top it all your counting the hand and the defense could have been much wiser. No regrets for getting a bottom.
  5. Miss/Madam, Good luck in all your future responsibilities.Bridge is just a pastime. There are many important things and responsibilities to bear in life.Wish you strong health and happiness.
  6. With♠ AKxxx opposite a third seat 2♠ opening it was very unwise on part of West to bid 4 .♠worst was the 5 ♠and the double after that.In my personal opinion ,only a beginner ,if not a novice, must be sitting West.
  7. There does not appear to be any cheating whatsoever .If I was a director I would let the scores stand as there does not appear to be an infringement of any rules or laws for that matter.
  8. The way the bidding has been described I would bid 4 ♠ and certainly not 3♦. And if indeed 3D is a help seeking suit bid then I, personally, shall bid 4♠.
  9. Why open 1Nt on a two suited hand,May be just with sole intention of preempt I guess opponents from there supposed major suits One spoils confidence in partner.Secondly why bother about the results. If one opens 1D then perhaps may reach a makeable 5clubs which does not require heart finesse.
  10. Points do not matter since partner has already passed 2♣.It is the number of losers .I totally agree that this is NOT a hand to make a reopening double and then rebid 2♥.That will show 5 (five) losers. However if your partnership makes a TOD on this hand my advice for you is play Lebensohl. That makes the responders hand much clear.
  11. If one is playing negative doubles and forced reopening passing 2♣ Is correct.Openers 2♥ Is absolutely correct and shows a 6 loser hand. It is then customary to raise to 3♥.This should be enough for the opener to bid game.
  12. Overcalling 2♥ on a non passed hand is overadventurous and certainly inviting trouble..Norths raise to 2 ♠ Is okay ,Exchange the ♣10 and the ♦ 8 and the hand becomes just a bit worthy of a stronger response.East is a passed hand and so he may consider bidding 3♣ which may convey a better info.rather than the tepid 3♥. South has no reason to proceed to a game contract. As the cards lie the play is easy and straightforward the diamond finesse either wins or loses.
  13. With a regular partner it is 2NT and with a strange unknown partners it is 4.♠
  14. It all depends upon distribution ,location of HCP in the long suits. There are no binding laws laid down,Multitude of conventions/gadgets are available and they all have their advantages and short falls.I found that many players use Cappeletti with or without modifications. One should desirably know all of them when facing strange partner.Use the one which the profile shows.
  15. Well .It all depends upon the partnership understanding. All other points have already been presented in a lucid manner .
  16. Very humorously funny these dotard novice Robots. They forget to cash established tricks to defeat opponents contract shifting very cleverly to trumps taking away the two way guess for the Q.
  17. The DK is an entry only when you see all 26cards.The good for nothing club suit has no Honor like at least Q.In it..And even now the S10 is not known.Shoot in the dark wishing for the stars ? Then bid 3NT and go down.Else just pass 2NT and hope it makes.Worst if opener has AKx-AKQJ-xxx-KJx and you lose the first 6 or 7 tricks on a diamond lead with Club AQ trapping his KJ.
  18. I feel it is a clear cut case for Double. It has certain advantages,Responder knows that it is a general purpose bid to be clarified on the next round as also it enables responder to compete if he has major either right away or on the next round(if has 6or less HCP) 1♦O over all is a dubious bid on this particular hand. The diamond suit is not strong or long enough. The hand is almost a 3suiter one (by that I mean it has decent support for all the 3 remaining suits and partner has the liberty to choose any as per his holdings). If it goes 1♣ x 1♥pp one can double again to depict a diamond @and spades lengths. Also partner may lead any suit of his choice if LHO buys the hand in NT. All said,Double is a marked bid on this hand,
