1 club strong opener usually 17+ hcps or strong 1 or 2 suiter hand preferably in majors. partner must respond. open 4 card majors. play weak 2 in majors only. partner responses to 1 club are 1 diamond - weak 0 - 6 pts, 2 clubs semi positive 7-8 pts, all other responses positive and game forcing 9+ pts.
2 diamonds is the only other demand bid 23 or more pts in a balanced hand or freakish 1 suiter - asking for specific aces from partner.
1 NT 16 - 18 pts balanced hand - no 5 card major, no singletons.
Does anyone know a way of copying hand results from the windows version into an Excel spreadsheet? I wanted to do some analysis of scoring when we get the bid versus when the opps get the bid to see if we score better on offence or defence. Thanks
In the windows version you can log your chat and find it in a folder called "bridgebase online". Is there a way to record chat when you are on the Web version.
Here's a website that discusses 4 cd maj vs 5 card: http://homepage.mac.com/bridgeguys/pdf/French5vs4Major.pdf I personally prefer 4 card majors - I think at the end of the day it is personal preference ;)
When results are posted in an ACBL tournament there are 3 columns of scoring and different rankings in each column? What do the A, B, & C columns mean? Thanks
The version of BBO seems to have good features not found in the downloaded version such as: A button that you click that calls up your recent tournaments instead of having to go to the results page and finding the name/time of the tournament you were in. It would be nice ibn the downloaded version to have this feature as well.
I think you should answer the negative because of the points then continue bidding after the opener bids so that opener can see that if you are bidding with 0-7 you must therefore have distributional values
