It was sometime in the mid-seventies at Wembley stadium, an all-day concert. Can't remember all who were playing, but it included The Band, Joni Mitchell, and finished with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. This was in the days before big screens, and we were right at the far end of the pitch from the stage, so it was tiny figures in the distance producing massive sound. Another one was Handel's Messiah at the Royal Festival Hall, again in the seventies. A friend was in the chorus and got me in free. Don't get to concerts much any more, tinnitus. :( Geoff

I don't have the magazine to hand, but from what I can recall, it is as Paul says. The article is very similar, if not word-for-word the same, as Justin's blog. Geoff

Just for interest: - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2285378,00.html  Geoff

Also see you've branched into Journalism. Nice article in Bridge Plus about psyches. Geoff

But again, as a Middlesbrough supporter, I was pleased that Stewart Downing had a chance to have his moments. I thought he did well in the short time he had.

Another disaster with a sub

What Inquiry says. As English Acol WNT player, I am happy with 1NT. 2C, not sure but I understand why. 2D ok, 3C what??????? -
Nor if I did. Though lots of the members at my club have a sense of humour Geoff As it happens, though it's been really dull so far, I reckon that for us English fans, it will get really exciting just up to the point where we lose out on the penalty shoot-out.... Also, I am very unhappy as a Middlesbrough supporter since the 1950's when Brian Clough was centre-forward (centre-forward, what's that?), that our best manager ever, Steve Mclaren, is being promoted to be the next Engand manager failure. Perhaps I'm just disillusioned

Am interested, but I do standby for work one weekend in three, so just mark me as provisional, Geoff

Two vampire bats in a cave. One says to the other 'I'm going out for a meal, brb' and leaves. Shortly after he returns, his face covered with blood. 'Blimey, where have you been?' asks his partner. 'I'll show you', he replies, and leads her out of the cave. 'You see that big tree over there?' 'Yes' 'Well, I didn't'

Yes, I know, but I couldn't improve on Frances' lists, so I thought I'd indulge myself with a little daydreaming. I'm still at work after all. :) Geoff

I will do my Henry Blofeld impression on Test Match Special. "A crow has landed on the pavilion roof, could this be an omen?" :) hehe Yes, what a character he was. Was? Still is, I hope, though I haven't been listening to radio 4 today. Some employers. :( I've been working at a World X1(1) and (2), but haven't come up with a complete list yet, but:- World X1(1), starts with: Gordon Greenidge Desmond Haynes and includes Clive Lloyd Gary Sobers and finishes with Wes Hall Michael Holding Andy Roberts Lance Gibbs While World XI(2) starts with Geoff Boycott John Edrich Ken Barrington and includes Alan Knott Fred Trueman This may suggest a nationality bias, but I do need to include Alan Border, Imran Khan, Rod Marsh and Dennis Lillee. To quote cricinfo.com:- "Throughout his career, Lillee also had a superb partner behind the stumps in wicketkeeper Rod Marsh. The dismissal "caught Marsh, bowled Lillee" appears 95 times on Test cards, a record pairing which has yet to be seriously challenged." So I'll put them on opposite sides. :) Geoff

I can recall seeing Gary Sobers playing for The International Cavaliers at York, one lovely Summer Sunday. :) Can't remember who else was playing. :( Geoff

I think it's about the over-accelerated, estranged modern society. Not much more to read into it. Smoke some weed and then watch it on a video projector... very nice. --Sigi

LA Confidential was on BBC TV last night, another modern classic. B)

This sums it up for me. I just ignore the argumentative threads, as I don't think there is anything to gain from them.

It appears my tastes are similar to Frances'. Since it's Easter, Bach's St Matthew Passion.

But back to cricket. :D At the club a month or so ago, one of our best players turned up at our table with what looked like a very impressive greeting or birthday card with him. When I asked what it was, he showed me. The card front was a painting of the Long Room at Lords, and inside were tickets for the Lords test match. He told me he had got them that day and he wasn't letting them out of his sight until he had them safely locked up at home.

What us win anything? Not a chance until we reverse the totally daft decision of a few years back that it was better to have independent organisations representing England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, rather than a single Great Britain group.

I have a friend at work who professes he cannot like or understand cricket. It is far too slow and boring, with nothing happening for so much of the time. His favourite sport to watch is tennis. Yeah, sure, action-packed every second.

Why 42? When I found I could not use GeeGee as a login to BBO, I chose GeeGee42. I was thinking of Douglas Adams at the time. :)

I must admit I hadn't the first idea what anyone was talking about, until I saw this... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,11...2088454,00.html
