  1. Thank you both for your reply! I think it's worthy of a try :)
  2. Hi all, I'd like to know if in BBO there is any opportunity for two beginners playing against two rented robots. I know it's possible to have a bidding training this way. I'm very grateful for any suggestions. Peter
  3. I read the announcement, but somehow missed this. Thank you for the information. Peter
  4. Hi, I've created a number of Lin-files using DM pro. I uploaded them to BBO. I opened <Deals and Results> in <My BBO> and all deals were there. When I selected them in <Bidding Practice > Using saved deals> I got the message: " Uploaded deals rejected ". Thanks for your advice. Peter
  5. Hi all, According to the experienced players of my local club F1 means forcing for one round. This sounds good and logical. But what means forcing for one round? Does this mean that it promises a rebid such as in the sequence 1S - (p) - 2C which often is forcing to 3C from responder? When this is the conventional meaning of F1 (forcing for one round)what is the correct terminus, when a bid only forces a response? A lot of players I know are using the 2C bid in:1S - (X) - 2C as only forcing to 2 of openers suit. Is there a expression for this kind of force? Thanks in advance. Peter
  6. What would be a sensible approach to showing a superstrong reverse when partner bids one of the suit, into which you want to reverse? A hand like xx, KQJx, Ax, AKQJx, for example. 1C - (p) - 1H - (p) - ? 4H would be passed with: KQxx, Axxx, xxx, xx. And 4NT could be to high opposite something like QJx, T9xxx, Kxx, xx. Besides a 4NT bid wouldn't get you the necessary information. Grateful for any any advice.
  7. Thank you all for replying! Helene T suggested doing single-dummy simulations. I´m curious and interested in numbers so would like doing this. I have DM Pro, but as far as I know, performs Deep Finesse only double dummy simulations. I would be grateful to know if there is any program for single-dummy sims.
  8. I´m wondering whether studies have been conducted regarding the EV of rightsiding a contract after partner has opened one notrump (15 -17 ) or two notrump (20 – 21) . Whether it is feasible at all, by calculations or simulations. Supposedly not by simulations since part of the EV stems from any less than optimal lead lead into the strong hand. Up to now, partner and I have spared no effort in trying to make the NT- bidder declarer The fact that Ron Klinger, famous author and creator of the convention „Keri over 1NT“ doesn´t seem to give a damn about rightsiding contracts in said convention gave me second thoughts. Into the bargain did I find out that Benito Garozzo incorporated this convention in the system „Ambra“ which he devised together with Ron Klinger and others for the Italian Juniors. Rightsiding seems not to be that important after all. Maybe someone has some information about this matter.
  9. Thank you both for the replies. They were informative and helpful.
  10. Recently I laid hands on a bidding system presented by one of the most prominent clubs in town. The recommended bid with 4 spades after 1m - (1H) - was not X, but 1S. I would be very thankful if someone could tell me the advantage of this treatment. Thanks for any input. Regards Peter
  11. Hi all, Is there among expert players an universal agreement about fundamental questions like does a bid show reverse strength after partners negative double? On the BWS homepage, I found only this:" After one club — (one of a major) — double — (pass) — ?, opener’s two-diamond rebid does not show extra values." People with whom I were discussing this maintained, that this depended on whether one played responses on the two-level as forcing or not. IMHO this doesn't make any difference. Thanks for any input. Peter
  12. Thank you all, particularly CSGIBSON - Two Way Minor Forcing is exactly what I was looking for. Peter
  13. After 1m - (p) - 1M - (p) - 1NT - (p) one should play 2c as invitational and 2d as forcing Stayman according to the Bridge Base Standaed System Notes (Advanced Version) Could anyone tell me where I can find further information about this convention? Thanks in advance. Peter
