  1. At this page: http://www.geocities.com/daniel_neill_2000/sys/ there is a description of a swedish club system named Swan 4.0 regards
  2. I think you cannot know what is going on until you see the full hand. This is the one you should recognize: ♠AT62 ♥J73 ♦Q84 ♣K95 or one of the other 3 (changing ♠♥♦♣).
  3. There are more cards out of place like the ♥A and the ♣A. The north player took the first 13 cards, then the next 8 and then he continued but I am not sure how. EDIT: I think he didn't continue but the remaining 31 dropped at the table.
  4. I don't like the 4♦ bid. If partner has a singleton ♠, then 5♦ may be an excellent contract. I think he should have bid 4♣ if that is a fit jump.
  5. WHY? why you can not understand? are you a younger bridge student? OK here is the nonsense I had made a reply that opposite x AJxx xxxx Axxx you can make 12 tricks with a crossruff. But if opps lead a trump you need at least the ♦Q with partner. I think slam is likely once partner makes a slamtry (he shouldn't do that with a balanced 9 count). But I understand the signoff, because if 6♥ makes the opps will call the director and then appeal. It has become a no win situation.
  6. I would have opened 1NT (playing a strong NT) or rebid 1NT (playing a weak NT). I would rather play 3♣, but 3♥ is not hopeless. People who play 3♣ make either +110 or +130 depending on the ♣ break and ♥ finesse. People who play 1NT will make +120 if they can pick up the ♣suit. So I think I need to make 3♥ to have a reasonable score. I would play a ♣ to the ace and a ♥ to the jack.
  7. I think the best bid with this hand is 7♣. Now the opps will not bid 7♠, because they are afraid of a ♣ ruff.
  8. I would win the lead and play ♥AJ. If they duck, then I finesse the ♦Q and hope to make 2♠, 2♥, 3♦ and 2♣. But I quess they take the ♥J and continue spades. Duck a ♠ and take the next ♠, cash all ♥s (discarding a ♣ and 3♦s from the dummy). Further play depends on discards of the opps, but I intend to take the ♣ finesse. I could cash ♣AK and play a ♦ to the king, if LHO has shown up with the ♥K, ♠s are 5-3 and opps have discarded a lot of ♣s.
  9. I pass and let them play any game they bid, but bid 7♥ if they bid 6♠.
  10. Very strange. Pro is forcing a decision at trick one and think he has given away the contract. I think he would lead a high diamond if he holds the king of hearts. So I can try to drop ♥K doubleton with the client or an intra finesse. Another plan is to ruff diamonds high, after all with 5 diamonds it is useless to lead the diamond ten. So lets draw trumps, if spades are 3-3, then play a club to the ace and then diamond ace and a diamond ruff. Maybe the diamond 9 is now high. If not, I have to guess whether the pro has 2 or 3 hearts.
  11. I vote other. I have 4 keyards an extra king and queen and partner is looking for slam. Just bid 6♥ and stop giving more info to the opps. Grand slam is against the odds if partner cannot have ♠K or 5♥s.
  12. I have not more than 4 tricks in ♣s and ♠s, so I need at least 5 tricks in ♦s and ♥s. I can play ♥s, but if that's wrong it may be too late to turn to ♦s. Actually if I play ♦s and ♣s first, then I might endplay someone with the 3rd round of ♥s, to play a ♠. So the basic line is win ♣K and play ♣T (duck in the dummy). Say LHO leads a heart, win in hand, finesse the ♣, another ♣ (discarding a ♠) and finesse the ♦9. If succesfull I finesse ♦ after a ♠ to the king. If LHO wins the ♦9, I will cash my ♦ and ♥ winners and exit with the 3rd ♥.
  13. Play a ♦ to the ace and ♣Q.If RHO does not ruff, discard ♥looser and take the ♠finesse. If RHO ruffs, then overruff and ruff a ♥ looser and take the ♠finesse. Only down if RHO has a doubleton ♥ and a doubleton ♣.
  14. I would unblock the ♣AK and play a ♥ to the queen. If LHO has ♥A he needs to duck and I have an extra entry to play ♣Q. If RHO takes ♥Q, he will probably play back a ♥, and I play a ♦ to the ace and ♣Q. The extra entry might give me an option for a double squeeze or a ♦finesse , if RHO ruffs the ♣Q.
