  1. ♥I have modified step responses to a 2 club opening. it shows suit and points and tells opener how far my (responders) hand could take us. part game/game/ or possible slam .. ALL in one bid 2C responses: part game only: 2D 2H 2S SHOWS 0-3 pts and a 4+ suit (if hand is 3-3-3-4 then bid 2NT FORCING TO GAME 3C 3D 3H 3S shows 4-9 pts and a 5 card suit (if no 5 card suit--bid 3nt) SLAM INVITE 4C 4D 4H 4S 10+ PTS AND A 5 CARD SUIT (IF NOT 5 CARD SUIT--TAKE OVER AND ASK aCES ETC) i USE THIS WITH various partners and all love it. try it..you'll like it Tseager44
  2. The system is very simple if you think about the suit and level you can play with your hand in responding to your partner. 0-3 pts bid your 4+ suit at the 2 level...if you have a 4-3-3-3 with clubs bid 2nt 4-9 pts bid your 5+ suit at the 3 level...if no 5 card suit, bit 3nt 10+ pts bid your 5+ suit or take over and go 4nt asking for aces. Thats it...if you try it and use it for a length of time, you will find it much better than 2D waiting or plain steps. teseager44
  3. I had an argument with an opponent recently. I told them they (as dummy) could not tell their partner that they are in their hand or on the board for leading a card. I said all the dummy is allowed to legally say is asking partner if he has none of the suit led. they stated the dummy could tell the declarer (his partner) that he is on the board or in his hand. Am I wrong? Can the dummy tell his partner which hand is leading? thanks p.s. I think I may be eating humble pie? :P
  4. I have found that the opener usually knows where he would like to be. His partner is only giving him info to help him....thus you will be better informed as to his points, how far you normally could go and his suit. Which is more in one bid than a 2D waiting or normal step response would give you. ALL in one bid... Yes, like anything, it may have a few drawbacks, but in the long run, My partner and I have averaged best boards the majority of times. And thats what you want in tournaments..the best.. try it for a while..you may find you like it.. ted
  5. I have modified the steps responses to the 2c opener. They are now using 0-3 pts bid 2d .. 4-6 bid 2h etc. My new modified system I use in our club is: with 0-3 pts bid the 2 level with 4 card suit or if your 4 card suit is c then bid 2nt with 4-9 pts you bid the 3 level with your 5 card suit or if no 5 crd bid 3nt with 10+ pts bid 4 level with 5 card suit or go directly to 4nt and as for aces. This system tells your partner immediatly: 2 level bid..not going game or slam and a suit 3 level bid.. going at least game and a suit 4 level bid.. going slam and a suit Any thoughts on this new modified system???
  6. I see a lot of "player needed at xxxx table". Then when you go its locked. You click on the empty seat and the deny you. I know its because they are experts and dont want lesser there. But couldnt they at least say that when the advertise for players??? Just bitching...thanks..... Tseager44 aka 44
  7. Look up Truscott defense,,,it is very good....as I use it against club bids. And thats because I also use precision club so have to know what its all about.
  8. Does anyone know if the little bubbles that pop up when your in the practice bridge master free sample deals that blocks the annoying chat. It covers up the spot where it tells you how many tricks you and the defense has. I have to click on them to get them to go away. Or is there a setting in my profile I can click to change the location of them?? Thanks p.s. I play Yahoo, Zone, Pogo and other sites less and less as I play BBO more and more......what a great site. p.p.s. why did the total points tournament ban the precision bidding? It is recognized in the big leagues why not here? Any answers???? thanks Tseager44 FROM: Hamilton Ontario CANADA
