  1. Do you know how much the charge is? we do offer very cheap tournaments (for our club members only), but it seems there is no option to use video chat.
  2. As a TD it would be great to have more options to give different "rights" /optionsregarding kiebitzers of a tourney. e.g. that everyone sitting on a table has to accept kiebitzers and /or that a kiebietzer is only able to see the cards of the person he/she is 'joining'. Maybe that could prevent self-kiebitzing and checking for as well partners as opponents distribitions. Kind regrads Michael
  3. exactly that happend to one of my (paid) tournaments some weeks ago. there were only 3 pairs and we ended up with a 2 table howell and a robot pair. I did not skip the tournament though I thought it won´t start. But it did ;o))
  4. +roundsX+ means that you do not run a full howell but one with X rounds. Given 5 table a full howell is 9 rounds. using +rounds8+ you get only 8 rounds. if you do not specify a special number of rounds you will get a full howell
  5. In my club some people are not very happy that dummy is able to see declarers cards, too. Knowing this is none of the real important "problems", programmers may think about to add the option that partner can´t see my hand if I´m declarer. Michael
  6. A far as I know, freezing robots happen if you do not allow robots as partners in your tournament. Substitution of robots can be done if you go to the table=> right click on the robot and replace him with a named player (not a random one). That´s works pretty well and really fast.
  7. Got the same information. For My club it´s no problem as we are 7 tables at most and I will be able to host free tournaments in the evening (Europe), again. What I´m really interessted in is what exactly will change in august? My players wouldn´t mind low costs (say 0.25 or 0.5 BB$ per tournament). Michael
  8. yes they were playing TDs as I started to "train" them cause I do not want to be the only one in our club being able to manage everything
  9. Hi, @ 1) yes @ 2) no. Both is great. Thanks to BBO Michael
  10. ATTENTION: +howell+ not +Howell+ AND: you have to have permission to use it (!!) For details see link above
  11. You do find details here. https://blog.bridgebase.com/2020/04/18/how-to-run-howell-for-small-tourneys/ But as I said: +roundsX+ fixes the number of rounds to X Michael
  12. Yes I think it would have been like you described. Without specifying rounds you play a full Howell which equals 2*(number of tables) - 1. As I entered 24 boards I think we would have played 3 boards per round. Entering 21 Boards should have led to 2 boards per round. Michael
  13. WONDERFUL. Worked perfectly. 5 tables 8 rounds a 3 boards. I´m completely happy. THANKS to the masterminds behind BBO. Code: +howell+ +rounds8+ Michael
  14. okay, hat sounds a bit different from what was told to me. i will test in 20 minutes ;o))
  15. First I again want to thank BBO that we now have the opportunity to host Howells. What I do not understand is the meaning of "partial" Howells. At the beginning I thought it´s simply playing a certain number of opps instead of all of them. e.g. given 6 tables +rounds8+ means 8 instead of 11 rounds will be played. But I was told I´m wrong. I learned that it means (again given 6 tables) the first 8 rounds are Howells and the remaining 3 are Mitchell. I´m sorry, I don´t get that. The other way round I would understand but given I played against 8 of 11 opps and we return to Mitchell the last three rounds I´m e.g fixed to N-S and all my opps have to be O-W. I can´t figure out how this works for all remaining pairs. I would understand if it´s the other way round. The first X rounds as Mitchell and the remaining rounds as Howell but I can´t see the advantage compared to a complete Howell. I confess I´m a bit confused. All the best and thanks for clarification Michael (biometrics)
  16. One last question. Does +howell+ work if there are sitouts, too? Thanks a lot for offering Howells. Michael (biometrics)
  17. okay, than it wasn´t my fault (despite not sub-selecting the same user twice to fix him/her ;o) ) Thanks for your help Michael (biometrics)
  18. Okay, thanks a lot. But the reason why it wasn´t possible to replace sitouts by selected players is stll unknown, is it? Invitation was sent but when they accappted we both got a BBO message like: unable to replace sitout by player. Kind regards Michael (biometrics)
  19. For the first time today, I was unable to replace sitouts by players who were not able to connect when Tournament started (6pm ECT). I had first to replace sitouts by random players to immediately replace these players by the selected players. I know that´s not how it should be done but I was in a hurry and had no other chance at all. 5 round later my selcted players again were replaced by those players randomly selected at the beginning. Does anyone know what happend? Was it my fault? Or was that due to BBO connection problems? At the end 50% of all players were disconnected and I had to cancel the Tournament. Kind regards Biometrics
  20. I tried now for five times and it worked perfectly. 5 tables 7 rounds. Never any replays. Only drawback: if you do have some really slow pairs some might wait for 8 - 12 minutes at the end of the tournament (up to -9).
  21. Yesterday: 5 Tables; 7 rounds a 3 Boards unclocked. NO replays. For me best way to set up Howell like tournaments.
  22. This happens if you try do change anything Right after you clicked on modify. If you change anything and "modify" you have to close your tournament before being able to modify again. Otherwise you do get that message. Kind regards
  23. Those who are allowed to create multple Tournaments have extra permissions. I think due to the fact that there are lots of new TDs these days, BBO wants to keep the number of tournaments as low as possible. And honestly speaking: it takes about 2 to 3 minutes to create a new tournament (I do have a word file where I save my different tournament descriptions and welcome messages at the beginning and just copy paste them *gg*).
