  1. It is not a case of replacing Flash. It requires a whole new program. I believe that a Scandinavian developer has produced such a program. Is it possible to let the authors have those text files?
  2. I suspect giving authors access to the code of their movies would involve some effort on the part of BBO. However as they are just text files and if they still exist on BBO's servers perhaps they could be emailed to the authors on request?
  3. What would be really useful is if BBO could give authors access to their 'source code'. If any moderators are reading this could this be possible please? I know I would like to be able to get at mine.
  4. It is coming up to a year since our club started playing on BBO. We now have an EBU virtual club but we started off using my personal director authority, SQUEEZERGB. I think we played our first club game on 18th March 2020 although it took a couple of attempts to get it going. Is it possible to go back in the 'My Hands' database to find that first event where SQUEEZERGB was host on 18th March 2020?
  5. On the other hand you could affiliate to the EBU obtain a virtual club and contribute to the future of bridge in England
  6. How come the Board 10 I played in the BBO Forums Daylong on Sunday 1st is identical to the Board 6 I played in the Diana and Friends Daylong on Monday 2nd? Is this intentional?
  7. Maybe if BBO read this they could tell us how we could obtain the files for our movies. Afterall they are no use to BBO and it is not like they will be competition to any of their current products.
  8. I have found more errors in the system assigned scores for unfinished boards in just the last three weeks than I did in the previous six months. Something has changed which is making more work for TDs and probably giving even more incorrect scores for players where it goes unnoticed.
  9. I did ask BBO support a couple of years ago about this and was told it was very unlikely these areas would be implemented in the HTML version. Obviously with the present emphasis on warding off competitors unlikely has become impossible. I have saved videos of my bridge movies not particularly because I think I can use them for teaching but at least so I have copies of all illustrative deals if I decide to recreate them in some other software.
  10. Try turning the tablet to view the invitation in portrait rather than ladscape mode
  11. I am sure I have seen somewhere Diana Eva saying that Robot subs are also Advanced. Can you confirm that all robot subs where replacing sit outs or a disconnected player are Basic Robots.
  12. Paul G how do you know your members prefer Barometer scoring on? We have never had it on in my local club but people have seen it elsewhere. The chairman, the most vocal member, was convinced everyone would want it on so we had a secret vote which was decisively in favour of leaving it switched off. Perhaps you are only listening to your vocal members and ignoring the quieter ones who just want to get on with the game.
  13. Any score adjustments made after the card is played appear to all be written to the 'My Hands' at the same time 20 minutes later. So results seem to be written just twice to the 'My Hands' database. The provisional results, immediately the event finishes and the final results, 20 minutes later. There are not incremental updates as changes are made. Whether it was a few milliseconds or 19 minutes and 59 seconds after the last card all updates will be written to the final results at the same time. Hence if you don't add time on to the last round so everybody finishes you cannot extract the results to put on the website until 20 minutes after the event. If you look at the results of your event now I am sure you will see that the 1100 is there. The other downside is that if the system or you make an adjustment during the 20 minutes the players will not be able to see it till the 20 minutes are up and they will not be able to ask you to review it. Therefore you should always extend the last round to allow all tables to finish but don't tell the players or they will get even slower.
  14. It did not work in a 'clocked' non-howell event when I tried it 3 or 4 weeks ago.
  15. Firstly for the other Paul G's suggestion. A downside to this is that if you make the round longer the cut off time after which the last board in round is not allowed to be played also gets greater. So if you have 7 mins-a-board but make it 10 this round so you have a 6 minute break it actually means that when you start playing with 14 minutes to go you have to play the first board quicker than you would in a straight 14 minute round to be able to play the second board. With the +break6+ and +bduration=5+ hack these only work in Howells. It would save the TD so much work if ut could be added to 'clocked' Mitchells. Almost every club I run wants a break and it is such a hassle in clocked events
