  1. Hello, They can write to accounting@bridgebase.com and we can help them out. Regards, Karen Accounting manager
  2. You can write to accounting@bridgebase.com for a refund. Best, of course, is to simply pay attention to the computer screen when registering for a tournament. If the screen says it is an individual game, and you want to play in a pairs game, do not complete the registration.

    RIP

Very sad news indeed for the world of music.
  4. My husband was at a gun store in the late 1970's and was listening to a couple of men there who were talking about the coming 'revolution' and going on and on. Finally he chimed in and said there will never be a revolution in the US. They got huffy and wanted to know what he was based his statement on. He told them, "As long as there is Monday Night Football, and beer, there will be no revolution." They thought about it a second and said, "Damn, you're right." Then they started another topic entirely. :)

Bridge Base Online is a free site, which means there are no membership fees and you can play as much as you want in our clubs and some tournaments. This is not to say we don't have some extremely cool premium pay features like ACBL tournaments and robots, to provide just two examples. For those features you need a BB$ account. Purchasing BB$ is easy to do. All BB$ is purchased using US$, and your credit card company takes care of any currency conversions for you if one is necessary, so that part is seamless for you. $20 US$ buys $20 BB$, which is kept in your username's BB$ account until such time as you choose to do something with it. BB$ are prepaid tournament entry fees and robot subscription rental fees. The cost of renting the robots is $1 BB$ for a week for the basic robots, unlimited time playing with the robots during the week, and an unlimited number of boards. You can set up the table to play with 1, 2 or 3 robots, that choice is strictly up to you. The cost for the advanced (tournament) robots is $1 BB$ for 24 hours, and the same thing applies - unlimited playing time during the 24 hours and as many boards as you want, 1 2 or 3 robots. Tournament entry fees vary, from $0.25 for the very fast robot tournaments, to $5.00 for the Best Hand robot tournaments; most of the pay tournament organizations charge $1 BB$ for their tournaments. The cost for each tournament is posted on the tournament description. Here is an online help file which describes the BB$ account, and another one which describes the BBO masterpoints levels: http://www.bridgebase.com/help/v2help/bb$.html http://www.bridgebase.com/help/v2help/masterpoints_bandp.html If you have any other questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know. 6. Really need to read the http://xkcd.com/ comic today :)
  7. This one completely blows my mind. http://www.slate.com/articles/health_and_science/science/2015/05/wyoming_law_against_data_collection_protecting_ranchers_by_ignoring_the.html In a nutshell, the Wyoming government has just criminalized collecting evidence of environmental harm and showing it to the government. This takes ignorance is bliss to a whole new level. Wow. Breathtaking.
  8. Put an 'x' (just one lonely x) in the credit card space, and type '111' in the CVV security code space. Click "Purchase" and no purchase will take place but your information will be saved.
  9. The next time you make a BB$ purchase, click the BB$ Account link on the left side of your screen when you log in, then log into the payment page with your username and password. Click the link to update saved settings, and that takes you to the payment page form so you can change to current information. Are you also checking the box for "remember CC#"? That saves the personal information you're talking about on our servers so the next time you log in with your username and password, that information will be filled in for you. It does also save your credit card number on the credit card processor servers, so you can use 1-click purchasing thereafter, should you wish to do so. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let us know. Karen aka macaw & accounting
  10. Pepper flash is the plugin that works with the Chromium browser. You need a different flash plugin to work with Firefox. You might want to rename your .mozilla folder and do a fresh installation of Firefox. If something got messed up with Firefox, that's by far the easiest way to fix the problem. Then it should work with the flash plugin.
  11. "Wavelength" an obscure science fiction movie which isn't out on DVD unfortunately. We have it on VHS but no player :) - curious if anybody else has ever seen that one. "Countryman" is now out on DVD, and it's entertaining. Not great acting, or cinematography, but a good almost science fiction story.
  12. For some areas at the moment, only a credit card is available as a payment source. It appears you are in one of those areas. When Paypal becomes available you will see it on the right hand side of your screen when you access our payment page. Karen accounting@bridgebase.com
  13. A refund was posted to your BB$ account. Regards, Karen aka Accounting
  14. abuse@bridgebase.com is the email address to report abuse. support@bridgebase.com is the email address for other issues, though if you send an abuse issue there, it gets to the same department easily enough
