  1. Is it feasible (possible?) that for those who choose USA as country that they could also select their District. So that their description might read USA - District XX. I think this might be valuable for finding partners for tournaments that one might like to attend outside of their home district; bringing on-line players in touch with players in their home districts (and thus encouraging F2F play) and encouraging folks just to have something else to communicate with another about. I think that the more that we can get folks communicating, the better it might be for bridge -- both BBO and the ACBL. (I must admit that I am ignorant about other NBOs so I don't know if this would translate world-wide.)
  2. Is there an undo button on the new version? Couldn't find it today. BTW, I also do not that there is not a landscape option available.
  3. Like most others, I don’t like W opening in 3rd seat with the flat 11 HCP hand. That said, it is not a serious error, but a matter of style. I take E’s double to mean 10+ HCP, 4♠︎, which rather accurately describes the hand. W’s 2♠︎ bid is in error, because he has a more descriptive bid of his hand. From my perspective 2NT would describe the hand — and he would not lose out on the ♠︎ bid if P had 5♠︎. (P has the 3♣︎ checkbook bid available to ask for 3♠︎) If one is going to open a light hand, he must be willing to continue to bid it — not overbid it, but bid it as if the opening was correct! 2♠︎ miscommunicates the shape of the hand to p. I find no fault with E’s 3♠︎ bid, he has 4 pieces and 11HCP. N has shown a weak bid, so E could incorrectly assume that P has a full opener…in such cases it would be error not to support p’s bid. If W is to open 1♦︎, I think the bidding should go: 1♦︎-2♥︎-X-p-2NT-p-3♦︎-p-p-p In sum, the fault lies not in the stars, or in E's bidding but in W's continual misrepresentation of his hand (first in opening then in 2♠)
  4. I'd pass and explain why I passed I'd also ask what why he though that a preempt in second seat sufficiently described his hand. With the hand as shown, I can only see a 2!c opener. But I'd really like to hear why a 4!s opener is a decent option here -- I really cannot see it.
  5. One of the features that I make much use of at BBO is kibitzing "great" players. I think a feature that would let the kibitzers see the "scores" after each hand (or round) is over would be a great feature. In most events in which we participate, we can see how a particular board scored after the round is finished, but when you follow the same person around as a kibitzer, you have no idea how a particular board scored against the field. I must admit, that when I review some of the hands that I've kibitzed, I am amazed at the scores--and don't remember what what I was thinking--or the declarer--when I review, perhaps because I am now seeing all 4 hands. In any event, this is a feature that I would like to see to enhance BBO.
