  1. Thank you I will give it a go Jennie
  2. Hi I want to use saved hands for a game. I need to create a 12 board file of deals only - no bidding. can anyone provide a sample .lin file I can edit please. I've been trying to create one but I am missing something and it doesn't load. As I need to do this weekly I want to use a .lin file rather than the hand editor. thanks Jennie
  3. I have been getting a number of players that are "stuck". They are there and can chat but they cannot bid or play and sometimes they can't see their cards. Is there any way to remove/boot a player in the current browser version of the software. I have seen lots of old references to removing players but they seem to be from years ago when there were fat clients around. Would the reseat immediately work in this scenario. Thanks Jennie
  4. I have been searching around on the browser version of BBO how to see who is kibitzing the tournament I am running. Is there a way to see a list of kibitzers and does it make a difference if you are a host, director or host/director. Thanks for any help Jennie
  5. I have used the hand editor to create a number of hands in my Deal Archive. For the lesson we want to run I need to be able to set the dealer and the venerability. I have worked out the Vun issue but cannot see how to change the dealer to seat I want. All help appreciated. Jennie
  6. Hi there, I am hoping someone can help. I have spent a couple of days searching for some how-tos on running free tourneys and there is not much that is still current. This is a fantastic service from BBO and my club is really enjoying playing as our close had to close and we are all forced to stay home. I want to try to make it as good as I can. Anyway I would like to know 1. What happens if you do have a sit out and let it run through the tournament. 2. If you are not a director you can see how many entries you have easily in the title in the game window but directors can only show registrations and count the number (eliminating duplicates). When it is close to start time it is important to know if you have odd/even numbers because you end up with sit-outs. Is there an easy way to get the total registrations from the director screen 3. Once a tournament starts can you change: the total boards, boards per round and minutes per board. I ask this so I can try to make sure everyone plays everyone at least once I noticed today that BBO separates the field into sections - is this based on the number of entries/boards or something else? I was thinking if I monitor registrations I can change the set-up before the start based on how many sections I get. Thanks it for now. Thanks for the help I have had so far. Jennie
  7. Thanks for the hand records tip. I didn't think it was possible but now I can give her some proof. Jennie
  8. One of our players has told that the boards dealt for our Wednesday 2:00pm sessions were the same two weeks in a row. Is this possible. I got another player to do a random check and they told me the 3 boards they checked were different. But I don't know of some boards were. Thanks Jennie
  9. I am running tourneys for with an include list and I normally have a couple of players that volunteer to be a sub for the tourney. I use substitute-select option via the right click on the player within Show Tables. Most of the time it works but recently I just get a message saying unknown error. Yesterday I was able to sub player A and then reseat the original player with they returned. Then when I tried to use Player A for another drop-out I just kept getting the same unknown error message. Sometimes using substitute - any works and then I can replace that sub with Player A but not always Can anyone tell me if any of the below are possible causes: 1. Player A was kibitzing on one of the tourney tables when I asked them to sub 2. Player A restricted to subbing only once - I assume this might have something to do with scoring 3. I am doing something wrong - if so any ideas what it might be. Thanks for any assistance
  10. I haven't been able to find how to boot them. Can you assist please.
  11. Hi I have just started running tournaments and in the last couple some of the players screens froze and they could not bid or play cards. What is the best way to get them going again. All and any help appreciated. Jennie
  12. Hi everyone I am looking for some help. I am about to run my first tournament and would like to know how to handle drop outs with substitutes. My questions are Can I select or control which substitutes are used? Is there any way for a substitute to register for a specific tournament? If a player drops out can the resume when/if the return? I understand there are peak times where drop outs are more likely. As I have some flexibility about when I schedule a tournament are there particular times I should avoid? Thanks for your help
