  1. We can select our own sub during tourneys when a partner becomes red. This is very good function , furthermore if we could pick a partner by inserting certain name into "certain" box, I wonder if software could be modified to enable this function to assign a box which will enable players to insert "names" manually. This may help tournament TD's to look for a sub on some cases on the other hand players will be much happier if they could select some certain person to play instead having a random partner. Of course this depends the ability of "Current Software" Thanks for your attention.
  2. I agree with Jill that as it was really little absurd however my point is not "announcing or not announcing" I was removed from tourney just because I wanted to "follow" the RULES of that particular tourney that have been "spammed" on each and every round repeatedly. Your interest appreciated.
  3. My opinion is NT opening should apply the CC on every conditions. Because when the game progress even (1) point takes crucial importance for to guess the hands so i think players to conform posted CC always.
  4. This topic may seem ridiculous but i feel its necessary to be sounded somewhere. I thought Forum is more suited rather than Abuse " I was told by one of the yellows that this is to be addressed to (CLUB)" but the one who is in question the manager of the club therefore seemed useless. On 24th of June I was removed from a tourney for asking opps for their system to which they would not reply except in private chat that "i should bid" to me after much delay. I was removed from the tourney for insisting that they announce. What is the policy for this when the TD spams that players must announce system at beginning of each and every round? I would appreciate opinions.
  5. Thanks your interest re our topic “Tourney Chat”. As I understand that “Limited Availability” of the Tourney Chat will not be possible in the near future. However since topic was standing there I have received some related comments and suggestions from players during my tourneys. I found the following is interesting: Most of them would like to know what was the best contract on certain boards? Although this information is available on “Travellers” TD’s unable to retrieve and pass them due constraint of workload. On the other hand if we keep the “chat” open we might have a chance to enclose “rough” idea to announce “Players” what was played on the previous boards.
  6. Thanks for your input Karl. As it was mentioned on my original post the "Idea" is this; During big capacity of tourneys some of the tables are finishing rounds much before than others. Most of the players do not like to wait to end of round just sitting at tables on the other hand "tourney chat" is not activated on most of the tourneys because " a lot of chat " is really distracting when you are playing a hand. Under the light of the above I am trying to find a solution "How we can fill this (dead) time. Therefore if "tourney chat" is "enabled only" for finished tables players those who finished earlier will have an opportunity to socialise and entertain themselves without distracting others those who are still playing. Of course this is just a suggestion depending on capability of the software. Thanks again
  7. Thank you very much your input Hotshot, I would like to emphasise that on my suggestion Tournament Directors can still post messages to Entire Players but when players was using tourney chat it must have been seen by only players "those who already finished the round" . The idea is while keeping the chat open to "avoid" distraction of others because they are still playing.
  8. I recently installed version 4.3.0, I agree "yellow" fonts on "black bacground" on that function is not suited. I suggest variation of any colors which was used on that page will be nice. Thanks.
  9. Tourney chat is to be kept open or should be closed. I would like to approach this issue from another perspective. During my tourneys I don’t allow players using this function as I believe that it is “distractive” for the players. However when you run a clocked tourney with huge amount of pairs some of the tables can finish the rounds very early. In fact on some occasions players are leaving the PC. At this stage if the round turns before than “expected” TD’s are ending up with non responsive players as a consequence obliging to sub them. I don’t know if following modification could be done to our current software that “tourney chat” is to be “enabled” only “finished” tables and “visible” only by them. If we could do this players those who are already playing would not be distracted and the rest of the tables can have a chance to socialize and entertain themselves on the other hand it will possibly encourage “some of the players” to play fast in order to “catch” the chat.! 10. Right click option of subbing is something very good hence it has eliminated a lot of workload . However it is also causing deficiency on some aspects. (because it is only enabling you to sub missing player with any of the subs when you have some in sub list) . On most of the cases "players" leaving the tourney when they are not happy with their partners. Ideal way is to match same skill level of player with same or to find a player who was playing the same system. Otherwise it turns to "snowball" once they are not agree the other one leaves and you are needing an another sub. My suggestion is if any other right click option could be created to bring "red dot" or "unresponsive player" to "replace to" box without typing and a TD to select a player from the list.
  11. Thanks Hristo for bringing up this idea it is going to eliminate a lot of unnecessary efforts. If libido's suggestion works there should be no problems.
  12. I have started to run tourneys at BBO very recently, and I come cross this bids. Since those bids can not be alerted (to be seen only by TD) and there is no such function on the software in use I am not allowing "psyche" bids during my tourneys. I have examined general "approach" to psyches and agree it is the part of this game however "at least" TD is to be informed when done. Due to "workload" of the TD those tables might not be attended "punctually" and it may cause "problems" on the game in progress eventually. As a common approach to this situation on many bridge clubs it was allowed once or twice in a season. Since we serve "random" players unable to monitor and mark them. On the other hand when its done on repetition it might have been "guessed" by the partner and turns to a hidden agreement. I am still "neutral" on those bids but I dont allow "psyche" on my tourneys. Your comments will be appreciated. Arsen
