Common is to play that A lead asks suit preference, if u hold bare A or bare AK u know suit to follow to get ruff.In this case pd should play small d.But if u lead normal K , pd knows decl has 1 diamond and have to play discg 9.Now odds that in addition to your club ace pd has power in hearts is pretty small.

Hi:) 1) via cuebid shows extras and slam inv+, 2) 44+ minors 3)FG 18 + 6+clubs 3)i i used to play good-bad 2NT promising either good min with 6+carder or unbalanced 4card supp u cant normally show like after 1C-1H-(2s)-2NT-3C-3H so here 2NT easy to play that 2NT just 12-14 6+ clubs and u could supp spades just without artificiality.

RHO opens 1D, u pass , LHO bids 1H, partner bids 2H.I have agreement its natural because LHO could have xxxx or something.IF i DBL 1D, LHO bids 1H, is 2H still nat?I asked just Italian open team member for this, he had agreement 2H=55 with spades, 2diamond natural , and 2NT 6 clubs/ 4spades good hand.Maybe after DBL 1H or 1S usually shows extras and no point there for natural?I guess so.And what if bidding goes RHO 1H , i dbl , LHO 1s?Here in my area quite often 1s will be bid with xxx in spades and Hxxx in hearts or just bluff, do we have here different situation?I guess 2s here should be natural spades, and DBL minors or just t/o ? :blink:

1NT-(DBL): Pass=asks for RDBL with 4333/4432 or 2C/D with 5c/d332, if opener RDBLs then respender with 44 suits bids his lowest.here with 4333 use your imagination( this is problem hand always), but here is possibility opener bids 2c or 2d with 5carder.RDBL=nat penalty.2C/D/H/S=nat 5+ card s/o; 2NT=FG 1 or 2 suiter. 3C/D/H/S=6+card INV.Its simple and works.I dont know any other system thats allows opener to bid his 5card minor if responder is balanced.I guess i have read 90 % defences against DBL what you could find in the internet but nothing better so far.

If guess Reverse Flannery response to 1D was invented to solve this problem , to let responder to bid 2H with 4+H/5+s and 5-9 hcp so that opener have to choose between majors , but not responder have to choose between passing 2c or bid 2s with 5512, because 2H is 4th suit forsing:)

Hi, i used to play that after 2D 2H as 24+ bal or 4+ H unbalanced, 2S as 4+ S unbalanced, and 3C/D nat denying 4M, 3H/S as SOLID 7+ suits asks for side cues. For example after 2C-2D-2H: if 2D was only negative then 2S automatic response and now: 2NT 24+ bal 3C 5+H/4X->3D asks sidesuit(3H/S/NT=S/C/D), 3S=5+S, 3H=5-7 3+H 3D 4H/5+D 3H 4H/5+C 3S 1S444 3NT 6H 1 suited, not as good as stright 3H over 2D IF 3C/D are allowed to bid with 4card MAJor its really bad,very bad:)

My point was to intervene against 1C very agressivly and pass 1st with good hands.So if u have nv vs v xxx,x,Axxxxx, xxx u should overcall 2d if natural or 2C showing diamonds or majors playing suction.I have nothing against natural overcalls against 1c and i cant claim that artificial methods are better, right thing is to be agressive but not stupidly:).One very bad spot is when u open 1c, LHO bids 1 level crash or suction or whatever, responder has semipositive hand 6-7 and doubles, and now RHO jumps 2s/3 minor or something as pass/correct, its annoying.

HNY Free 1st.Im from country where Precision is standard, and 2c should be alerted if usual strong, if Precision 11-15 u must not alert.I have played Precision and played against it. So if u have like Kxx,Axxx, AKxxx, x is normal to pass and use your normal defences agaist 1c-1d-whatewer,if there is a positive response to 1C u pass, and u feel happy u didnt bid.Nonvul agaist VUL after strong 1C is for example automatic 1S bid if u have something like xxx,Jxxx, Kxxxx, x promising clubs or reds if u play Suction, and in this vulnerability its common you pass partners new suit bid as pass correct like 2C here after 1C-(1s)-dbl-2c-(pass), even when u have reds but no clubs, so now if the dude who showed for insatance 6-7 after 1s have real problem or if he doubles, opener is in trouble.Of cource to pass pass/ correct bids is not frequent but happens.Shold be.Crash/Suction/Yeslek and so on base on that.But if u invented something new bridgeworld doesnt know or better defences agaist str 1C please let me know, send me private message or post here, im not the only one who who wants new ideas aboat this one.Thanks glen and others for feedback, and no offence towards Free, just natural thoughts.

Most strong club defences pass with 13+ hands and bid with 3-12, wise thing coz after pos response no need to show where the points are, but after that kind of nonforcing 1C u cant pass with strong hands coz opening is passable as nat 1c opening. And after any kind of intervention its easyer as opener has bal hand or clubs as main suit.I saw brazilian pair Campos -Villasboas after strong 2c and double neg 2H response had 2NT 22-23 nonforcing, and 2s as nat 5+ suit or 24+ bal. 2c-2d-2s: 2NT any 6 card suit, 3C staymanish, 3d=no 4 or 5M, 3H/S=5M, 3NT 55 c/d 2c-2d-2h-2s-3c: 3D 1 or 2 4card MAJ-s 24+ bal, 3H=5+S/4+H, 3S=5+S, 3NT=no 4card Maj 24+ bal I dont like 2H as double neg after 2C , coz it makes harder to find 4-4 Maj fits, but that scheme could be used after 2d-2H waiting.

Polish and Swdedish are basically strong club systems with added weak notrump and in my opinion Precision is way better than those two.Also these systems with weak notrump are quite bizarre,more like some 15+ strong club systems:)As with weak notrump in matchpoints, u go against the room , if they bid 1m-1s-2s-pass the best possible contract u have to score 8 tricks with combined 20 hcp or so , obious that 2s guys score better. @ imps +90 is not a problem, at MP its zero.

After playing some years Precision(means 10+ years),i like to switch to natural.But , biggest weakness in natural systems i think the 1C/D openings, like 11-21 3+ suit - could be 12-14 bal 3carder or 18 7carder.1D 4+ and 1c 2+ better , but not big improvment. So i thougt something like: 1C 15-21: either 15-19 bal(incl. 5D332) or 15-21 4+ clubs unbalanced 1D 11-21 4+diam unbal incl 11-15 4D/5c, never 5D332 1H/S 11-21 5+ 1NT 12-14 (system focus for IMP-s and teams so weak NT) , incl. 441d4 2c 11-15 Precision 2D 22-23 bal /any FG 2H/S weak 2-s 2NT 20-21 bal So minor suit openings are far more better defined, and against 1C u cant use your agressive str club defences coz still passable openig,means u cant pass with good hands and come in with shitty ones.2D gameforce is not so "good" as 2C but 2c is already a weak spot of natural systems, so no big harm done.Also coz of competive auction i dont like the "Nightmare system" idea include 22+ hands into 1C opening.Comments pls:)

1c-1S-2D doesent wrongsiding NT: u play 2H as inv to 3NT( with min opener bids 2NT), 2S is TRF to 2NT( bids after 2NT are free to use and direct bids after 2D are also ):)

just forgot: its important if u play trf walsh to open 1diam with 4diam/5C and 11-15.After 1d-1h/s-2c= 11-15 54+C/D both ways like in Polish Club systems, if u open 1C and get 1s response your bid is 2C , but 4-4 or 5-4 diamonds might get lost.:)

I liked to play after 1D/H TRF: TRF accept 1H/S=11-13 bal( i play 14-16 notrump)after that 2C/D 2-way C/B, 1NT=17-19 bal, 2NT= 18+ 6+clubs. 1c-1s=5-11 w/o 4M if max 9-11 then unabalanced 54+minors or bad 6 diamonds,after that : 2diam =bal 17-19, and 2NT=16+ 5+C/4diam( rare bid, coz opps have lots of maj-s); 1c-1NT=9-11 bal, 1c-2NT=12-13 bal( inv againtst 11-13 bal); 1c-2c=FG nat/14+bal; 1C-2diam=FG 5+diam; 1C-2H/S=3-7 6+suit; 1C-2NT: 2-5 6+clubs or FG 55 clubs + another 1c-3C/D= 9-11 6+suit( if diam then good suit) 1C-1s-1NT wide range 11-16 coz responder with 9-11 bids always: 2h=9-11 5+C/4d, 2S=5+D/4c, 2NT= 9-11 bad 6+diam, thats basic stuff didnt add more followups.

Hi, i play 2C-2D Relay, 2H/S 8-11 5+NF, 2NT nat INV, 3C PRE, 3DHS inv good suit Over 2D rel: 2H 4diam->2S FG relay, 3C/D=INV, 3H/S=6+FG 2c-2d-2h-2s: 2NT=min->3C asks: 3d=6c/4d, 3H/S=3card, 3NT=5422, with max over 2s bid natural your shape 2C-2D-3C=min 6+clubs 2C-2D-2S=max 6+clubs with any singleton->2NT asks singleton 2C-2D-2NT=6+C balanced Similar over 2D, but here we play 2H F1 Relay and 2NT as 8-11 5+H and with 55 minors we always open 2D and after 2H with min we bid 3C and with max 55 we bid 3H/S with spl, cheers:)

Im a Precison player mostly.Some years ago i added to system 2C/D openings as 11-15 6+suit, or 5+suit and 4 other minor.So 1D had only 11-13 bal also any 4441 or any 4Maj/5min option.And it started to work very well that way, especially 2C/D openings that took a lot space from opps who usually after those openings have fit in at least 1 minor.1C/D in natural systeems more vulnerable than strong 1C coz they might have 12 bad bal or 18HCP 7+suit.Big diference.But to open with 5card MAJ 11-21 cant be bad.And i guess its better to show 5+MAJ 1st and then strenght versus str 1C when u show points before.So i put together kinind of system: 1C 15+ no 5+MAJ or FG any hand 1D 11-14 any 4441 or 4MAJ/5+min 1H/S 11-21 5+suit 1NT 12-14 bal 2C/D 10-14 6+suit/5+suit and 4+ other minor 2H/S as u wish 2NT 20-21 nat After 1D opening coz opener always has 1 4+min, then responders 3C always weak PRE with 4+4+ minors.Also bidding is very simple here: 1D-1H: 1S 4144, 1NT=4s3h5+m, 2C/D 5+m/4s no 3H 1D-1S: 1NT 1S444, 2C/D 5+m/4H no 3s, 2H 3S4H 5+m raises are natural, very simple,What do u think?

With my pd we started to play 2C/D in Precisonlike system as 11-15 6+suit or 5+suit with 4+ other minor.They worked very well, coz 1D was only 11-13 bal , any 4441(rare) or 4MAJ+any 5+minor,but only 2 level pre bids we had 2H/S.So we started to play Muiderberg and after that we could more frequently open with 2 of a MAJ. Some players play 2H/S as 10-13 6+suit, or 2H as 10-13 4H/5+minor and 2S as 10-13 4S/5+minor.Those openings with 54 are very frequent and very precise, and after those openings pd has usually clear picture what to do.Thats why very effective.

Hey, i dont play weak 2s already ca. 4 years.And after that im convinced i will never play them.They occur so rare. They were 1st preemtive bids players started to use, but 54 hands occur 3-4 times more than 6 card suit. So, Muiderberg 2H/S 5-10 5+MAJ/4+ minor is more effective.Im a regular tourney player and i can say 100% was winning decision to get them out.I bet when people started to use them , even weak 2 instead of strong 2 was "from other world", so it stayed, they dindnt come to that, that 54 hands happens 3-4 times more and that approach even more useful.Ok, sure you loośe some hands but SURE u gain more.U never get under - 500 or -800, sometimes u loose fit in other minor: i remember hands i played and made 4H when weak 2 plyers stayed in 2S -1.And I started to play without them when i read some article from BFallenius or MNilsland that weak 2s are loosers in the long run, and i could say they are.

Hei! 2S should be 5+ ok, 2NT nat.I play that the 1st dbl showes 6-7 any and pass 0-5 or trap so pass should be forcing(if u have minors or any gameforce hand and dbl = exactly 4s as u mentioned);)

If u cant bid 2H with that hand nat and nf, then u need to change system or whatever:)
