  1. Must be prepared to put in the time necessary to form a strong BBO partnership. If interested please contact me [hutchau] at ron99@optusnet.com.au
  2. [hv=d=n&v=n&s=s42h52dtcqj987654]133|100|Scoring: IMP 1♦-2♠- P - 3♠ 4♥ -4♠ ??[/hv],Sorry all I omitted a 4S bid I have corrected this
  3. [hv=d=n&v=n&s=s42h52dtcqj987654]133|100|Scoring: IMP pard opens 1DI 1DI - 2SP - ??? What do you now bid[/hv]
  4. I dont pass here I bid 3!H then 4!S over pard's bid.I am MOST reluctant to pass low level TO doubles without treump tricks
  5. playing 2/1, if the auction begins say 1♥ - 1♠ - 2♣ what strength is shown with the 2♣ bid [a] a game force with clubs a one round force with clubs
  6. The Double has a strong penalty flavour with 0-1 ♦
  7. It seems like a "pick a slam"...Cant be GSF as no suit has been "agreed"I would bid 6♣
  8. In an auction where dealer[on your left ] opens 1♣, partner overcalls 1♦ and the opps bid 3NT on your right and partner doubles, what lead is he requesting from you??a ♣ or a ♦???
  9. I have often noticed strange cards being played by world class players at trick 1 where either attitude or count are what I expected. eg On the opening lead holding something like Q872, after dummy played the Ace,the 7 has been played.I find this card impossible to read as [a]If it is a high Attitude card, the 8 shudda been played[highest affordable] If a count card again the 8 or the 2 shud be played depending on agreement. Is there some other system of signals being used [eg odd/even] in this situation. If so can someone direct me to info on this? Thanks all.
  10. I was kibitzing JEC & Alfredo recently defending a 4HX contract.Early in the hand declarer led the 9♣ towards dummys KQT2. JEC played the 7♣ from J876 and Alfedo ducked with A543 allowing contract to make!!!!What happened here??I suggested that this happened because JEC had NOT played the 8♣[Play the highest you can afford when playing high...ie here the 7 denies the 8] Many specs felt the 7♣ was a correct play, one saying that they ALWAYS play their 3rd highest in this situation as this informs[ partner that you dont have 2!! lower cards in this suit!!!![true but is this worthwhile information] Very few at BBO follow the rule of "play your highest" which seems quite basic to me.Experts will "encourage" by playing the 3 from A832. Do these players play in games where declarer isnt allowed to "hide"little cards?? Please dont tell me that UDCA solves this problem...it doesnt. The PRINCIPLE still applies. Do you have another way of carding here that makes sense?
  11. [hv=d=w&v=b&s=sak32hj8d765cq872]133|100|Scoring: IMP 2♠- P- P- 3♥ P - P-3NT- P 4♠-?? What do you bid now???[/hv]
  12. [hv=d=s&v=b&s=sakjt76hd3cjt8763]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv]
  13. [hv=d=w&v=b&s=sqjhkqxxdkqxxxcxx]133|100|Scoring: IMP 3[C]-P-X-?? What do you now bid??[/hv]
  14. [hv=d=e&v=b&s=saktxxxhatxdkqxca]133|100|Scoring: IMP Dealer opens 3D,you decide you are too good to bid 4S opposite a non passed partner.so you double. Partner bids 4H passed back to you. What do you now bid?[/hv]
  15. without discussion I would have thought that here any bid but 4♥ would be a slam try, suit bids are cue bids where [1]4♠=Ace of ♠,may or may not have a ♣ control, but highly likely to have one [2]5♣=Ace of ♣ and K of ♠ as without ♠ control I would have bid 4♥ [3]5♦=K♠,K♣,A♦......as no Bwood
