  1. If you click next card on one of the specific other hands the opening lead is revealed and if you play the hand till the end you will also see how the defense goes
  2. Try Chrome, it hasn't given me any trouble
  3. In live games at the clubs bids over 3NT are usually not alerted unless the opponents inquire. In BBO games, should the player alert her bid over 3NT?
  4. Check this hand from a tourney today, https://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&lin=pn|dsavas,otangu,alaattin4,~~M12304|st%7C%7Cmd%7C4S29QH9TAD2348KC23%2CS4KH3468JQD5TC48J%2CS5JAH2D679C567TQK%2C%7Crh%7C%7Cah%7CBoard%202%7Csv%7Cn%7Cmb%7C1S%7Can%7CMajor%20suit%20opening%20--%205%2B%20%21S%3B%2011-21%20HCP%3B%2012-22%20total%20points%20%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C2H%7Can%7CForcing%20two%20over%20one%20--%205%2B%20%21H%3B%2012%2B%20HCP%3B%2013%2B%20total%20points%3B%20forcing%20to%20%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C2S%7Can%7COpener%20rebids%20suit%20--%203-%20%21H%3B%205%2B%20%21S%3B%2011-21%20HCP%3B%2012-22%20total%20points%3B%20forcing%20to%203N%20%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C3S%7Can%7CSupport%3B%20possibly%20a%20strong%20hand%20--%205%2B%20%21H%3B%203%2B%20%21S%3B%2012%2B%20HCP%3B%2013%2B%20total%20p%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7C4S%7Can%7C3-%20%21H%3B%205%2B%20%21S%3B%2011%2B%20HCP%3B%2012-17%20total%20points%20%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cmb%7Cp%7Cpc%7CC3%7Cpc%7CC4%7Cpc%7CCQ%7Cpc%7CCA%7Cpc%7CS8%7Cpc%7CS2%7Cpc%7CSK%7Cpc%7CSA%7Cpc%7CCK%7Cpc%7CC9%7Cpc%7CC2%7Cpc%7CC8%7Cpc%7CC5%7Cpc%7CDJ%7Cpc%7CS9%7Cpc%7CCJ%7Cpc%7CSQ%7Cpc%7CS4%7Cpc%7CS5%7Cpc%7CST%7Cpc%7CHA%7Cpc%7CH8%7Cpc%7CH2%7Cpc%7CH5%7Cpc%7CD4%7Cpc%7CD5%7Cpc%7CD9%7Cpc%7CDQ%7Cpc%7CS7%7Cpc%7CD2%7Cpc%7CH6%7Cpc%7CSJ%7Cpc%7CCT%7Cpc%7CS6%7Cpc%7CH9%7Cpc%7CH3%7Cpc%7CH7%7Cpc%7CHT%7Cpc%7CHQ%7Cpc%7CD6%7Cpc%7CDT%7Cpc%7CD7%7Cpc%7CDA%7Cpc%7CD3%7Cpc%7CS3%7Cpc%7CD8%7Cpc%7CHJ%7Cpc%7CC6%7Cpc%7CHK%7Cpc%7CDK%7Cpc%7CH4%7Cpc%7CC7%7C I was distracted and and thought opps opened and overcalled 2H which was a GF bid since Robot bid 1S. Robot rebid 2S and we ended up 4S and 3 down. I was wrong but shouldn't it respond 3H at least?
  5. GIB hardly (never) uses Total Law of Tricks principle in competition and always (mostly) pulls the penalty DBL below 4S. Since BBO acquisitioned Bridge Baron it'll be much better to deploy its player which could also be configured with respect to bidding system and defense principles. I'd pay a one-time fee for a configurable robot on top of the tourney fees. In fact, I'd own more than one configured robot and rent it on a tourney basis e.g one Robot for 2/1 and another for 1C Strong There's no point to complain the shortcomings of the current GIB as I understand it's a hefty task to maintain / revise it. There's also a wide-spread belief about returning to the clubs late this year if the vaccines work but a lot of people will stay away for a while and folks like me will keep using the robot

    Fee

Best to purchase BB$ by logging on to BBO thru a browser on iPad, iPhone or any Android device
  8. I got refunded shortly. Apparently, BBO has a procedure to initiate the refunds in such circumstances
  9. Hi, This morning (GMT + 3, Turkey), after the scheduled BBO Server Maintenance took place I enrolled in a free tournament to play with the Robot but it was halted having played a few rounds. Shall I get a refund?
  10. Another task of high priority should be to modernize the Robot (GIB) to adopt current practice of the game around the globe. At least, it should claim the hand whenever possible. In today's Pandemic environment more emphasis needs to be given to improve it. After all, it's a source of revenue for BBO.
  11. BBO doesn't implement much easier stuff like Robot claiming the rest of the hand instead of stressing players to discard to no avail let alone adding a tab for this :)
  12. Hi, In “Express – Free Automated Fun” tournaments, majority of Polish players don’t play 2/1 and bid with respect to Polish Club which leads to unexpected results, mostly against the declarer. Is there a way to force the players to play 2/1 as required?
  13. The harsh truth is that whoever designed GIB's defensive play as well as its bidding did a very poor job and it's high time BBO owners / management revisited the plans for the Robot and either improved it dramatically or purchased a brand new one
  14. Hi, Check out this, http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-229193350-1596096001 GIB plays Cappelletti and I duly bid 2H with a 5 Diamond on the side. GIB bid 2S and I passed because I thought there was no support for hearts and neither for a minor showing at least a 6 Spades. The result was, as always, the lowest score for the board
  15. Another mishap in bidding by GIB, http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-221784415-1595878319 My Double after second Diamond rebid (3D) was surely for Penalty. If'd doubled for Takeout I'd have done it against 2D.
  16. Hi, In a tournament yesterday, GIB attacked from a doubleton clubs against a 3NT contract, http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-206547772-1595446382 No expert view or a computer simulation justifies such a lead and I strongly suggest that BBO management should consider to revisit GIB’s defense. As always, I ended up with the lowest score for this board. Regards, Ozcan
  17. Actually, I'm not looking for a book but a study by someone who's documented differences among varieties of Strong Club system and maybe some views on Polish club vs Strong Club. Thanks, anyway
  18. Hi, I wonder if there's a study / documentation to compare the current varieties of Strong Club systems (including canapes) and views on Polish Club vs Strong Club. Also, I'd like to hear about thoughts on enhanced precision by Ron Beall vs standard modern precision by Daniel Neill. Recently, I had a look at Transfer Responses To One Club With Relays by Lyle Poe but I don't think it's a pure Strong Club system and will be great to know what others think about it. Hv a nice day, folks Ozcan Tangu
  19. Just played another tourney and check out this deal, http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&myhand=M-190376834-1594989634 Out of twenty tables, one pair sacrificed in 5D doubled and lost -800 and the rest made 4H or 4H +1 except that GIB couldn't make it.
  20. The reason I bring up such glitches is that BBO management would take notice and make some improvements such as the player of Bridge Baron or Jack 6 or am I day-dreaming?
  21. Been playing with GIB since March and I'd write a novel re its leads and its defense in general. For instance, today, I was dealt with Q2, Q10, J64, KQJ10xx and led K of clubs for a NT contract. Universally known in bridge circus that this kind of lead would be made from KQJ at least. GIB had Ax in clubs and won the 2nd club. The contract was made and if it had won the first lead and returned the 2nd club the game would have been set by 2 tricks
  22. Another hand in today's tournament and GIB holds 85, J1065, A1095, Q109 and the auction went: 1S - 2H, 4H and in between, Robot and I passed. Robot was on lead and attacked with 5 of diamonds under the Ace. Consequently, we got another lowest score.
  23. Hi, In of hands I played with GIB today, the contract was 1S and GIB was on lead with Q, Q986, QJ103, Q954 and laid down Q of Spades. In GIB system notes, it claims that “Read the book Winning Suit Contract Leads for insight on the way GIB leads against suits.” and I have a copy of the book and it never advocates a singleton trump lead whatsoever. As a result, we got the lowest score for the board.
  24. Hi, Since I started this post I decided to share my experiences with bidding, play and defense while playing with Robot and hope that BBO Management will take notice. Based on GIB system notes published by BBO, GIB plays Lebensohl after 1NT opening. Today, (check out deal 2, https://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?th=3019~ozgull&u=otangu&v3b=web&v3v=5.6.4) Robot opened 1NT and RHO interfered with 2H. I bid 3D forcing with 9HCP and 11 total points with Diamond length. Robot rebid 3S. Vul vs Non-Vul GIB West North East South 1NT 2H 3D Pass 3S Pass 4S If I had 4 spades I’d have bid 3H (Stayman) instead of 3D and thought that Robot had 5 spades and raised it to the game. As you can see, Robot had double stoppers in hearts and should have bid 3NT which was what was played im majority of the tables
  25. Advanced Robot as I pay 0.25 USD each and every time. I don't share your view that GIB plays MP as well. If it did he would have taken marked finesses when it was obvious in many occasions
