  1. Hi all, I want to ask how to handle invitational unbalanced hands after the sequence 1H-1S-2H? For example you hold : S AKxxx H x D KJxxx C xx In my opinion, 3 level new suits should be a game forcing sequence and also and I think 2S doesn't help as it should be 6+card.
  2. I will pass. The suit quality and hand strength makes it dangerous to get doubled and go down. In all red, I would not risk doing such a gamble.
  3. 1. P-(2S)-X-(P)-2N Lebensohl 2. P-(2S)-P-(P)-2N Scramble but I doubt if it's called super unusual 2NT according to the book"To bid or not to bid" i have just read. Should be any two suiter, not necessarily the minors. Partner should try from the lowest suitable suit. 3. P-(2S)-P-(P)-X-(P)-2N Scramble. 4. 1N-(P)-2C-(2H)-P-(P)-2N Natural. I play 2C does not promise a major(only way to invite partner), so 2N must be natural. I think double is just holding spade suit and club suit, asking partner to have preference. (or only spade suit, depends on agreement) 5. (given in another thread 1N-(P)-P-(2S)-P-(P)-2N Scramble.Yes, I agree 2N here can not be lebehnsol or any flavor of good/bad, since intial pass of 1NT. 6. 1N-(P)-2C-(P)-2H-(2S)-2N Natural. As I said before, it must be natural. So if want to compete to 3H or 3C/3D just double. I admit that Good/bad here is also good idea but I have no choice :) 7. P-(1H)-P-(2H)-P-(P)-2N Minor suit takeout. With spade suit involved two-suiter just bid 2S, we want to compete only, the lowest level we get, the more advantages. 8. P-(1S)-P-(2S)-2N Any two suiter. Partner bids cheapest 3 card or longer suit. 9. (1S)-P-(2C)-2N 2C = game force red two suiter 10. (1C)-P-(1S)-X-(2S)-2N Good-Bad 2NT 11. (1S)-P-(2S)-X-(P)-2N Scramble. I play partner's double is balancing and 2N is asking partner to choose his long suits from the lowest possible suit. 12. P-(1S)-P-(2S)-X-(P)-2N Scramble
  4. Thanks all. I have learnt a lot here. Actually, I also think that the slam chance is so slim after I hear partner opening with my void, but there are 5 tables getting to 6C and so I just ask if my bidding theory is too poor to do so. Btw, I am still satifised with my destiny 3NT. ;)
  5. I am sorry that the correct hand is: My partner : S KQX H A9x D QTXX C QXX Mine: S AXX H QT8X D Void C AKJXXX Btw, that means when I held GF hand with longer minor, I need to bid 2C and then bid heart again? But the question is that will he know you are showing heart suit? Isnt it be natural that you are showing stoppers only? Thanks ;)
  6. I have just played this hand last night, I dont know how to handle the bidding well. I hold the following hand: S Qxx H QT8x D Void C AKJxxx We are playing 2/1 GF with my partner. Partner bade 1D and passed to me. It's pretty bad news hearing partner bade my void suit!! However, as we are playing 5 card major opening, 1D opening has a chance that his diamond suit is not strong but he was forced to bid this as he did not have 5 card major or something not suitable to open NT. From now, I can quite sure if his diamond suit is not a real one, I should bid slam try. Nevertheless, I must bid 1H now as responsing majors is the first priority and see the further description of my partner. Unfortunately, he bade 1NT showing 12-14 balance hand. Now, I had the problem of showing my 6 card minor. The following are the choices I have thought of : 1) Jump to 3C - but I think it would show at least 5-5 hand. Would I need to tell a lie? I dont like so 2) 2C-(2X)-3C - 2C is new minor forcing and 3C can just show 4+ clubs and partner would ususally bid 3NT even he got 4 card clubs. However, it's the best bid as I can bid 4C over 3NT to show an unbalance hand with long clubs, hoping partner would not confuse it with gerber. 3) 3NT - holding only 12 HCP, adding up with partner's 12-14, I think the most likely game is 3NT. So, In the real case, I bade this and I found partner's hand was: S AKx H A9x D QTxx C QXX 3NT was of course sure make, but we had missed 75% 6C!!!! I was so unlucky that partner was holding the hand I have imagined to have slam!! But how can I reach this nice slam?
  7. Nope. Of course I have tried so, but it doesnt work. After I deleted the comment, It would appear again when I click the person again.
  8. I like the new feature of BBO that I can type some comments to any person. However, I found that I cant delete those comments after I have typed them. Can anyone tell me how to delete them? thanks
  9. Thanks, Yzerman. For the response of 1M-2m-2NT, would it be a risk that pd will pass your 2m?
  10. What will you open if you hold 5-3-3-2 hand with a 5 card major and the strong nortrump opening strength? Some guys choose to bid 1 major and meet the rebid problem when partner bid 1S/1NT. (I chose that) Some guys choose to bid 1NT and meet the problem of losing the major fit. Actually puppet stayman can solve the problem here, but I want to know would it really a good convention and what's the full version of the responses of puppet stayman? Thank you for reading this article! kongo
