Thanks. The popups came back today as mysteriously as they disappeared. I sure will miss the flash version when it goes away - I like the summary of hands played and results that is always on the screen (in tournaments).
Popups stopped working for me a couple of days ago, e.g. I do not get a popup with the tournament results. I cannot look at mail also. I use the adobe flash version. https://www.bridgebase.com/client/currelease6/bbo.php?cb=I5mAaSUOiq
The BBO robot will invariably interpret the double as a takeout double and put you in a contract that scores -10 IMPs, when you would have had +10 IMPs if the robot had simply passed your double.
Same here. I'm getting 'aw snap' at least once in every 8-hand tournament. I use the older 'flash' version because the new version does not show the results of hands as conveniently as the old
On Nov 28, 2018, in a 8-board robot IMP tournament, I bid NT games seven times and a NT slam. I scored a net 38 IMPs and took first place easily. Three of the contracts were set, but I still netted positive IMP's from those three
Why not bid 4♣ in response to my takeout double? I had a stark example of robot inconsistency in the play of the hand. I was playing a daylong 'just declare' tournament (so bidding is the same for all competitors). My contract was 5 clubs. The E-W robots took three high-card quick tricks then started a cross-ruff. I watched helplessly as they took the first seven tricks. Down 5. I figured my score would be around 50% because everyone else who played the hand would be in the same boat. Wrong. My score for the hand was 30%! Shouldn't an algorithm always produce the same result?
