Hi, as a director I'd like to send chat to my tournament, often a number of lines are related to each other and the character count often exceed 245. Currently I copy and paste each line individually, which can become time consuming. I know multiple chat lines can be sent at the same time, I see the vacb director does so at the start of the tournament. Likely built into the tournament creation software. Is there any way I could do the same? John

Never (45 years of bridge) seen this before. KQJ1092 AJ109854 -- -- RHO PARTNER RHO YOU 1H P 1S ? Any suggestions on the best way to approach it? With favourite partner and with GIB. This hand came from the Daylong MP A game, results posted on September 19, 2019. [hv=pc=n&s=skqjt92hajt9854dc&w=s3hkq732dkqt4cj76&n=s87hda9732ckt9854&e=sa654h6dj865caq32&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=1hp1s2spp3c3sppdppp]399|300[/hv]3c3sppdppp]399|300[/hv] Playing with a GIB I chose 2S. At least the gib believes I have rebiddable spades. After a spade lead and another spade, 10 tricks were easy. Different story I suspect if tapped at trick 1.Full hand as above : Scores were varied: Top went to Sight On who bid 5S, was doubled and brought it home on a nice piece of deception. After spade, sapde she called trump and LHO threw a small heart. Now the heart 8, which held, heart 9 and the LHO bot ducked again. Now the bare KQ fell with Ace and another heart for a well deserve +650 and 100% Two, (myself included) bid and made 3S* with an over trick. Of interest were the number who defended 2NT by E. 18 in all, one was doubled down 1, someone went down 2 undoubled, one made 2nt and 15 settled for 2NT -1 Then a few got into a bidding war with partner, which the human rarely wins. Some doubled 1S and tried to bid spades naturally later on, alas GIB thinks he's got a big hand with support and the war starts. Interesting hand. John

Thought there was a topic on this but I couldn't find it. I mentioned this for a previous update and I thought it had been addressed. It was except for one area. Vugraph archives. I am using an android tablet. When you go into Vugraph archives, find a previous game and tap on view it opens just fine but there is no way back to Bbo that I can see except the return arrow on the tablet and that still logs you out of Bbo altogether. Mobile app 5.0.9 feedback thread
Defcon0 replied to diana_eva's topic in Suggestions for the Software
I sent a few things I noticed to support. They said it's better to use this forum. I will copy what I sent support at the bottom. I have noticed a couple of other things: VUGRAPG: 1) When you join a table you use to be able to tap on the button, top left, that keeps a running tally of the imps or MP and a brief summary of the contracts and imp scores already played would appear. That doesn't work easily now. When you first arrive at a table it doesn't work at all. To activate it you must first tap on history button and then return via the play button. You don't have to do anything in History, just go there and come back. Once done the contract summary button is activated and lasts until you leave the table. If you go to "Other Table" you must again go to history and return to activate the summary. When you return to your original table the contract summary button is again inactive and you must, go to history and return to the table to activate it. 2) Purely by accident I tried to go to the other table while the new deal was being displayed and the screens got mixed up. The Other table had missing cards and some cards we visible from the original table Casual: 3) When starting a casual table I have noticed the slide buttons to all/disallow kibitzers etc. are not as sensitive as they were. I have had to tap 4 or 5 times on occasion to slide the buttons to the desired place. What I sent to Support a couple of weeks back: Hi, Thank you all for the latest update to the mobile software. I am delighted to see the Return button on the Tablet itself being adjusted. Now taking you back 1 screen and asking (in most places) if you want to log off rather than simply logging you out of BBO. I also appreciate the mini account summary upon log in. If I may add a couple of thoughts and please take this as constructive thoughts to fine tune the software. I am not criticizing at all. 1) When viewing mail it use to be that one could open the first mail message, click/tap on the next, read it, tap on the next and so on until all mail had been read. Finally closing the last mail message would take you back to the mail box. That is all messages previously opened would be closed. It looked like opening a message closed the previous one. With this update, after all mail has been read one must close each message. So if you open say five messages you need to close each one, either after read and before opening another or one at a time at the ending of reading. As far as I can determine you can only open and view 1 message at a time but the others are still open in the background Perhaps this is by design ad if so fine. I just found the older method more convenient for me. 2) Back to the Return key on the device, tablet or phone. There are still two places where I believe it could be improved. a) When playing a game – casual is where I found it - hitting the back button on the Device forces you to leave the table. You must be re invited by another player or restart your table.Again I would like to be asked if I want to leave the table, much like what is done when the back arrow is tapped in the software itself. b) Go to Vugraph/Vugraph Archives and tap view for a previous match. The match loads but as far as I can see there is no way back to BBO. No back arrow on the software and hitting the return on the device logs you out of BBO completely. So if viewing a previous Vugraph one must log out and log back in to BBO to continue using it. John (Defcon0) -
The price of Landy

Different hand from initial one given. AK6432 VS AQ5432 Still, if the 2nd version is right, win K, play A and trust pard to unblock. If 1st case is true then like was already pointed out. Clear clubs and pard will return a diamond. -
What do you bid if anything (Part 2)
Defcon0 replied to sirjimmy's topic in Interesting Bridge Hands
I think we all know anything can be right. I wouldn't assume the 4s call is premptive though. Opposite a passed hand partner a 4s bid could be on anything. Still, pard could have the big hand and if we make a call on these cards the next a stop could be something at the 6 level. My own methods in thus situation are: Pass - nothing to say Dbl - general values (nottake out per se) without promising a spade stack 4nt - 2 suited take out (I give up on blackwood) usually having values 5c, 5h - my suit + values 5d - support with values 5nt - GSF in diamonds 5s - looking for a grand, likely in diamonds 6c, 6d, 6h, 6n, 7c, 7d, 7h, 7n to play On this hand, it's a choice between 4n and pass. Laws in both calls but I don't want to sound like I have HCP values. I pass smoothly to not compromise partner's next call. Btw, do you play mandatory reopening dbls here? I do not, but many do. Another question is what do you bid if anything after P 1d 4s p P dbl p ? I still play 4n = 2 suited take out and would do that -
What is your approach
Defcon0 replied to JanisW's topic in Intermediate and Advanced Bridge Discussion
Lots of potential on these cards, but lots if danger. I am assuming pard has a good hand with 4 hearts and not some long diamond suit looking for a spade guard. As good as this hand could be I am not willing to push to the 5 level on my own. I'd much prefer to have the 5th heart and a doubleton spade allowing for a pitch on pard's hoped for AK clubs. In fact, if pard's looking at a 2-4-4-3 or 2-4-5-2 with baby spades, slam will need perfect cards To me, time to tell pard I have slam interest but am limited. 4c splinter captures the flavour of the hand in my view. Slam interest but with limited values - unless I bid again over 4h. Not perfect but the best description I'm comfortable with. 4c and leave the rest up to pard. John -
Raised this already with support but does anyone else notice that (in the mobile app) when you hit (or even brush) the return/back key on an android tablet or phone that you get logged out, with no confirmation asked for? I use a Samsung S7 phone and a Samsung Tab s10.5 and it happens regularly and at most inopportune times.
