  1. I'm running Chrome on Windows 10. Reset my broswer to defaults, rebooted, no change. It was working fine until a few days ago--the day on which BBO announced that it was having "system issues." Now, when Chrome shows the hands, it truncates the image. I can still play, but the bidding box is off center and the robot partner does not appear on screen. To access the BBO play screen the way it is supposed to look, I have to use MS Edge. Maybe BBO thinks it is still running Flash? In any event, I'm convinced that the problem is at BBO's end, not mine.
  2. The BB) software has stopped displaying properly in Chrome. Please fix this.
  3. It seems to me that the robots decide, from time to time, to just screw people. Maybe they don't like the cut of my jib. Or maybe they are extracting additional table fees. So here is the latest insanity. I hold xx, AKJxx, void, AK10xxxx. 1d on my left, 3d on my right. I overcall 3h. (Proper bid is 4c, but I know from experience that if I subsequently bid hearts, the robot will never figure my clubs to be longer than my hearts.) 4d on my left, pass, pass, I bid 5c, pass, 7h by robot, p,p,p. Robot has: Qxxxx, Q109x, x, J9x. Did my 5c bid somehow convey first round control of both spades and diamonds? Gee, I thought it meant clubs. These idiotic jumps to 7 by the robots have to be fixed. This isn't the first time.
  4. Here's my latest robot fiasco. Robot has: Kxx AQ109xxx x xx I have Q10x void AKQJxx AKQx Robot opens 1H. Auction goes 3d, 3h, 4c, 4h 5d, 5h, 6d, 6h. The software has serious captaincy issues. 6d was the last makeable spot. 6nt makes if they lead a spade, otherwise no. I can't get the gd robot to shut up with its broken suit.
  5. At IMPs or rubber bridge I open 2c and respond 3c to 3d. At matchpoints I respond 2nt. I go slamming over any positive response at any form of scoring.
  6. Even if its a second negative, the Robot should correct 5c to 5h, which makes. Another fiasco earlier today. I have __ Kxx AKQ10xxx AJxx. Robot has xxxx Kx Jxx xxxx (that may not be exact) Auction goes 3s on my left, pass pass 4d by me, pas pass, 4s, 5c by me, pass, 7c by Mr. Robot. 5d is cold, 5c is cold, 6d might make on a squeeze. What bid of mine justified Mr. Robot's leap into the stratosphere?
  7. Even if its a second negative, the Robot should correct 5c to 5h, which makes. Another fiasco earlier today. I have __ Kxx AKQ10xxx AJxx. What bid of mine justified Mr. Robot's leap into the stratosphere?
  8. 3c was not described as a double negative. It was described as "better minor" even though Mr. Robot had only three of them. I don't care how the programmers want the robots to play it, just describe it accurately. And don't bypass Kxx support in opener's first bid suit to do something assinine.
  9. My hand: AKQ AQJxx x AKxx Robot's hand: xxxx K109 xxx xxx Auction: 2c, 2d (described as waiting), 2h, 3c (described as "better minor", less than 11 hcp) 5c, 6c Any human idiot will bid 3h or 4h (if playing fast arrival) over 2h. Nor would any human raise a second suit to 6 with three small without showing support for opener's first suit. This kind of silliness is fine for BBO tournaments that are free, but not in ACBL robot tournaments that cost $1.25. Supporting opener's first bid suit with Kxx is not rocket science. I feel cheated out of my entry fee.
  10. We all realize that bridge is much more difficult to program than chess or backgammon. Just keep at it. Some bidding options would be nice too, instead of having to bid according to a single canned system. Bridge Baron will play precision or a weak NT system, why can't the bridge base robots? Yes, Bridge Baron plays these systems badly, but at least it tries.
  11. The ACBL IMPs game. When the robots start to do really dumb things I typically withdraw, so as to avoid distorting the scores for the rest of the field. I had a situation the other day in which a trump suit was agreed, I asked for key cards and when I discovered an ace was missing, bid 6, which was cold. The robot then decided to bid 7. There are serious captaincy issues with the robots.
  12. It's one thing for the robots to make bad bids. It's quite another for the explanation of what the bid shows to have no relationship whatsoever to the robot's actual holding. I've encountered that situation twice now in the last few days. Don't state that a bid promises support for a suit when in fact the robot bidder has a singleton.
  13. Please add me to the list. I prefer Brozell runouts with any weak NT system. I'm new to BBO and looking for partners.
