  1. I use this method: When raising partner's suit I add 1 for a doubleton, 3 for a singleton and 5 for a void. These are called short suit points. Total Points (TP) = HCP + Short Suit Points 6-9 TP :- 1♥-2♥ (Simple raise) 10-11 TP :- 1♥-3♥ (Limit raise) 12+ TP :- Respond in a new suit & show your support later This is the method used in Fred Gitelman's "Learn to Play Bridge" programme. You can download it FREE on BBO homepage.
  2. These two pages describe GIB bid descriptions. 1. http://www.bridgebase.com/doc/gib_descriptions.php 2. http://doc.bridgebase.com/lobbynews/gib_descriptions.xhtml I noticed that the descriptions of "biddable" are slightly different. 1st page: "5+ cards, or 4 cards + 3 of 5 honors or Ace or King" This means Kxxx is a biddable suit. 2nd page: "5+ cards, or 4 cards + 3 of 5 honors or more than 4 8421 points" This means KJxx is a biddable suit, not Kxxx. I want to know which one is correct.
  3. According to "GIB System Notes" page, it shows a hand that has 22+ HCP. But when pausing the mouse over 2C, it shows "19+ HCP, 23+ total points". Which one is correct?
  4. What's the correct opening bid with this hand? (SAYC) ♠ A K 10 5 2 ♥ A J ♦ Q 3 2 ♣ K 9 5
