  1. I have a similar problem. Can't log in from any of 3 desktop macs, nor an ipad nor iphone. UNLESS the iphone is configured as a hotspot with cellular data, feeding any of those devices. Then i can log in. True since yesterdays problems. In all other respects, my systems are working properly. This is ONLY a BBO problem.
  2. you can click on the contract to see the bidding for as long as you like.
  3. This week there was an announcement that BBO is now charging state sales tax on BB$ purchases. When I contacted the office about it, suggesting that this is a service, not a physical product, Annie Cárdenas sent me a link to a long blog post on an unrelated website that didn't seem to answer my questions. I'll make the same argument here: my state (California) charges tax on physical item purchases, but not services. No tax on gardening, doctors, etc. If I buy something at the hardware store, of course there is sales tax. So how is it that BBO justifies this?
  4. How about making convention cards mandatory for ACBL games, now that they're all online? It's a tedious process to query opps at the beginning of each round.
  5. When I join a casual game that is in progress, with existing previous scores, the system consistently shows the previous hands won by my direction as won by the opps, and vice versa. This has been true for months.
  6. I play ACBL tourneys frequently. Nearly always, once I've finished the last board, and start to discuss hands with my partner, the system drops me. I mention it because it is so consistent. Yes, BBO drops me during ACBL games as well, but not in so consistent a fashion.
  7. that's probably the exception rather than the rule. a couple more things: creating a table, chat defaults to sending to kibitzers. how often is that what you want? the system used to remember my preferences when creating a table. now i have to enter them all if they aren't the system's default.
  8. There are still some issues with the HTML5 version of BBO. I'm surprised these haven't been addressed yet: 1. When starting a casual table and inviting players, the auto-complete function searches my entire friends list. The Flash version would only show me members of the list who were online. That was smart. Why did that go away? 2. When starting that casual table, the ONE name that won't auto-complete is my own! Again, in the Flash version that would auto-complete. I can't fathom why that doesn't occur any more. 3. When a player leaves my table, I sometimes want to know if they've gone offline, or to another table. But regardless, the system tells me they are playing at my table. That's clearly not true. And this remains what the system shows me for a couple of hands' duration. I hope that the system programmer can update these functions.
  9. more issues: when someone leaves your table and you check to see where they've gone, they're still listed as being at your table. not sure if i've posted this one before: Dummy's trump is shown on the right, at least when your LHO is dummy. that is never done in live bridge. it was never done in the flash version.
  10. Suggestions for the new version: Now, when you click on the name of another player in your game, you get 3 options: Remove, Remove and Lock Seat, and Get Profile. Instead of putting Remove FIRST, put Get Profile first. That's most likely what we want to do, and that will help us avoid removing players accidenatally. Once you get a player's profile, it stays active until you click the Close box or hit the Escape key. In the Flash version, it faded out after awhile. That was better. The HTML version is slower than the Flash version. I hope that can be improved.
  11. When I've tried the HTML5 version, I've found two issues: The results don't refresh on the left as they do in the Flash version (as other tables play a hand). Profiles don't close without an actual click in the close box. In Flash, they fade out after a few seconds if your cursor isn't still hovering over them. That was a nice feature which should be reinstated.
  12. well, after 5 days - no change. that convinces me not to sign up for the nabc tournament online.
  13. As of this weekend, I cannot access my profile, hands and results, or my convention cards. Selecting them from the "My BBO" link doesn't cause any reaction. Other links from that menu still work.
  14. you obviously haven't played the robots lately. this isn't about the last trick... it's about EVERY trick.
  15. Playing the robots today, their play speed is mind-numbingly fast. They've always been too quick for my comfort, but this is something else. It is distracting me from thinking deliberately. Can they be slowed to more of a human tempo?
