This is a false analogy (and perhaps a bandwagon fallacy as well). If very misguided African-Americans refer to themselves as an epithet because either they don't know better or are attempting to reappropriate a racial term that has been used to denigrate and devalue who they are, that's their choice. However, their own misguided use of the n-word does not give either permission or creative license for other Americans to use it. The historical context of the n-word in the United States from 1776 to Present clearly shows that it was used to marginalize, ostracize, oppress and denigrate African-Americans. It was culturally acceptable to view African Americans as less than, as property (and not people), or at best as Americans worthy of 2nd class citizenship. When you devalue people with epithets, you don't prove their ignorance, you reveal your own. If you use the "n-word" to describe African-Americans, you are using the power of words to put this ethnic group in their "subjugated" place which by definition is racist.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/james-comey-described-as-insubordinate-in-doj-inspector-generals-report/ Agreed. The Inspector General has concluded that Comey was insubordinate as I was intimating in the above-mentioned e-mail in April 2018.

Winston, Trump is no more ruthless than the very Congressional codgers (politicians) who claimed foul when he became President-Elect. The 2016 election was supposed to be Hilary's coronation. Since she was an establishment candidate, upper crust Wall Street investors, lobbyists, executive members of the business community, and government agencies would know what to expect from her administration. Instead, everyone got a wild joker card with Trump's victory and that scared them because politics is POWER. Politics decides how the power base will be divided; politics ultimately determines who lives and dies on the streets. Several different stakeholders didn't know if they were going to be on the short end of the stick with Trump's policies and that's unnerving when big money (wealth) and the stability of the capital markets are on the line. HRC was "supposed" to win the election. She was denied the Presidency by both Obama and Trump; once bitten, twice shy. Out of touch politicians forgot that when they don't take care of the economics of the voting working poor (especially those displaced in the Russet belt), they risk losing elections that were "no brainers". People often vote with their wallet instead of their conscience. Further, it's a strong testament to where we are heading politically when voters put more faith in a snake oil salesman perpetrating as a real estate mogul than a shady Democratic establishment candidate who is chronically engrossed in scandals. Voters had to ask themselves, "In the matter of Clinton versus Trump, do we take the devil we know or the devil we don't know?" Congress pulled almost all of the levers of government to attack Trump once he became President-Elect. He was too mercurial, inexperienced, unpredictable, and anti-establishment for Congressional, media, and investor tastes. So we have opted to overturn the 2016 election through the machinations of government. I think it's more disturbing when Congress empanels a special counsel as revenge for Trump winning an election than owning the political mistakes that were made in a critical federal election. Trump has been demonized for our current political crisis but he is only part of the problem. We have a political shell game going on between Republicans and Democrats, and the voter keeps on picking an empty shell and they are tired of it!

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/05/22/bank-deregulation-dodd-frank-603388 Trump can mark this as a victory; however, the passage of this bill sets the risk management climate right back to the HOLLYWOOD / VEGAS style banking that caused the 2008 housing bubble. Irrational exuberance by institutional investors, NEXT EXIT!

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-met-waffle-house-shooting-suspect-morton-20180423-story.html There isn't enough parental love to explain how it made sense to return an AR-15 to a mentally unstable child who bumrushed the White House and got the FBI and Secret Service all in a tizzy.

Trump's peers already knew he was a charlatan and wasn't as filthy rich as he claimed. Why didn't Forbes do a better vetting process on the members of the list to ensure this type of error doesn't occur year after year? Surely the participant's net worth wasn't based on inquiry alone?!

Maybe Trump said it in light of the special counsel that Mueller recently hired for this case. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4617632/Mueller-team-lawyer-brings-witness-flipping-expertise-Trump-probes.html Also, getting a witness to flip is not necessarily a sign of guilt, but could very well be a function of prosecutorial misconduct which is rampant in the Department of Justice to get the verdicts they do.

People who advocate for war rarely want to be on the frontlines to see how the sausage gets made. American media presents war theater in a very clinical, performance metric-oriented manner to assist government in selling war to the masses. We rarely see faces of death or dismembered children or burning flesh or maimed bodies when reporting war. This presentation lulls us into a false sense of security about the scale and scope of death involved, the exorbitant price of victory, and the obscene amount of destruction required for a chance at victory. We find the war effort more palatable because of well crafted propaganda that ignores its ugly, morally reprehensible and dehumanizing aspect.

Senators don't have the courage or moral resolve to take a calculated risk before they take a poll. That's not leadership . . .that's reactive management. This nation doesn't need conformist automatons parading as political leaders. We need leaders who care enough to put the will of the people above moneyed interests. God help us all!

If the Trump presidency ends because of money laundering/racketeering practices then our vetting process for the President of the United States needs a serious overhaul. It doesn't take electing a candidate as President of the United States to do the necessary background checking to obtain a solid and comprehensive understanding of his financial background and profile--especially with someone who has been in the PUBLIC EYE as long as Trump has (since early 80's). To act as if all of this intelligence on his shady financial dealings is brand-spanking new is just asinine.

You are absolutely right, today's government or FBI could never be as corrupt as the FBI or government of years past (Hoover) because it has evolved since then. Hoover was Director of the FBI for 37 years and it's not coincidence! He had consolidated power and obtained tabs and/or damaging intelligence on a lot of Senators and Congressmen and politicians so much so that they feared the political fallout of crossing him and/or removing him from office after year 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30. It was "less dangerous" to let Hoover remain in power until his death and run amok with the FBI than to take him down or oust him. So much for that naturally occurring checks and balances in our political system, eh?

Apparently that quote wasn't large enough to remind Comey to be quiet about the email server scandal a week before the federal election. Also, it wasn't large enough for Comey to make sure his staff didn't stonewall Freedom of Information Act requests regarding the clandestine Phoenix Tarmac meeting between Clinton/Lynch where FBI agents were present and even outlined the rules of engagement. http://insider.foxnews.com/2016/07/01/how-was-local-reporter-tipped-clinton-lynch-meeting There the non-political FBI goes again helping to determine the rules of engagement on a late-night "ex parte rendez-vous" that should have never occurred under Department of Justice ethical guidelines. I don't believe Comey recognized the gaping holes in his own glass house since he was too busy throwing stones at Lynch's and Trump's.

I see Newsweek is now a $hitty source? Source: http://www.newsweek.com/clinton-election-comey-win-email-885140 It's high time you check YOUR reality of facts. . . which is built on a very specious bubble. And it's a fact the FBI sent a vicious "suicide note" with racially charged language to MLK (please refer to the NY Times article which found the FBI letter unredacted in the National Archives of all places!) https://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/16/magazine/what-an-uncensored-letter-to-mlk-reveals.html Long story short. .. power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely!

I am reluctant to give James Comey any credence. He is a lawyer who served as the 7th Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and yet, was caught using the FBI as a political tool when he thought there was a viable chance Hillary Clinton could win the federal election. He should have reclined in his leather executive chair and had a huge cup of "shut the hell up!" That would be the morally courageous thing to do. Instead, he decided to play dirty D.C. politics and announce that the FBI was going to re-open the email server scandal investigation a week before the election which is tantamount to using the FBI as a political machine to sway public sentiment. How soon most Americans forget that the FBI has been a political tool of suppression from the start. Source: https://www.npr.org/2018/01/26/580677742/the-massive-case-of-collective-amnesia-the-fbi-has-been-political-from-the-start Any investigative agency that can send a preacher―a NON-VIOLENT civil rights leader and ALLEGED adulterer― a "suicide note" to promote the end the controversial Civil Rights Movement and then proclaim that they believe the FBI is beyond reproach and immune to politics is just delusional. The FBI has consistently been used as a suppression tool to promote the interests of the State―even when such interests conflict with the Constitution or the public's right to know the unadulterated truth about its government's clandestine agenda and operations. Comey says that Trump is morally unfit to be President. COMEY SHOULD LOOK IN THE MIRROR AS HE IS MORALLY UNFIT TO BE DIRECTOR OF THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION. IT'S THE POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK. Source: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-morally-unfit-be-president-comey-says-tv-interview-n866196
