  1. Double. Show cards, a balance or semi-balance hand
  2. I choose heart lead. It may be not too late to attack ♦ later on.
  3. I play new suit no forcing here. My choice is 2♥.
  4. I double, with KQ good support, it's fine even you play support dbl here. If pd bid 3C, I'll bid 3D to look for ♦ stopper.
  5. 2♦ for me. If I have a ♦ honor in replace of the low ♣, I may choose 1NT.
  6. Pass is not my choice. I have to speak out with such a hand. Any bid may distort the hand description somehow. I choose 1N.
  7. 1NT. Even partner balance double, you will be still in adjustment again. Will you pass this double if your partner hold 5-card heart suit?
  8. 3S, then back to D contract. This is to show a distributional shape hand with a long D suit. 2S is more based on strength.
  9. Loser count is very helpful to adjust how far I can go, to bid and not to bid.
  10. Optinal. Some extra, good defence values. with support on other H+D.
  11. Pass. I don't see anything could driving me to respond 1S. Most time you will see disadantage for 1S response, if you play 2/1 with your partner.
  12. 1S then pass 1NT. I don't raise 2H with a balance hand. With 3-card support, I consider raise only when I have a stiff. I don't have problem with 1NT with this hand. I'd rather clarify my support card number and make further bidding an easy move.
  13. Club. I choose to be passive on this hand.
  14. 5C. I am not favor in defence with this hand and my hand is not a minimum. 5C is straightforward.
  15. 1, Yes. 1NT is fine. 2, 2NT. don't like 3D. D suit is unlikely the source of tricks.
  16. For me, 4S is forcing Q. I don't see any reason why I need to signoff ar 4S in such a bidding sequence. I expect more on 4S Q, at least KJT, usually 2 of 3 tops. Looks no grand here. So I will go RKC instead of 4S. If everything is in hand, you may still probe grand.
  17. Bidding is going on as E S W N 1H Dbl P 1NT 4H DBL ALL PASS PD's hand S: TXX H: X D: KJXX C: JT8XX When I judged this call, I once thougth 1, 4H could block opps easy spade call if they have spade fit 2, worse scenario set 2 3, Best scenario make a boardline contract. And the team do need this swing for this knockout match. and the boards were only left 4 boards to go. I am wonderng it there is a good way to probe the game. My bidding is like some gambling. However, if PD has CA, I'd have very good chance. Or even Pd had CQ and SK, I'd have good chance for game too. I considered in the tourney and found no way to precisely ask PD for specific help. If I bid 3H, how can my PD to judge his hand? As Justin pointed, I was really bothered by LHO's double and RHO's 1NT while holding SQXX. If I had DQXX, I'd more confident on 4H.
  18. In a tourney about to close, your team is a bit behind. You are the dealer in East and have the following hand with Red vs white. All players play 2/1 with some gadgets. S: Q8X H: AKT9XXXX D: - C: K9 E S W N 1H Dbl P 1NT ? What's your call?
  19. Bid 4H and Pass later. Bidding 4H is not preempt as ops already bid out spade. Beside, we are in red so I should be seriously thinking that 4H could be played, either by my shape or value or both. Since I've already passed the above information, I have no more to talk with this hand. I am void in spade so pd has more spade so he should take more responsibilty to judge this hand. He knew more than you in the table and he chose pass. So, repect his decision, whatever right or wrong.
  20. 4S bid is low. Slam chance is good for them. Unless it is a tactics.
  21. 2C open. If possible, I can use exclusive RKC in later aution.
  22. 4S for both. Accroding to LAW, the only scenario to lose score is both side makes 9 tricks only. And it looks more than 18 total tricks in some scenarios. So always favor 4S here.
