I found the directory you mentioned c:\Bridge Base Online\hands\Fil. There is a sub folder with my user name and inside there are lots of bridge movies. The strange is that the most recent date of the files is 20/4/2009. It has the same date with the log file. Something (or better, me?) somehow managed to stop the recording since that day. Yes, I have played in bbo since then. Well, the problem seems that has to do with security. I tried to modify an unrelevant file that drop in there, and guess what? No permission granted...

Hi, I am having the following problem: The chat log file is no longer working. Settings under Chat Tab: Ignore chat from lobby [cheched], from enemies [checked], to kibitzers [unchecked], ignore all chat [unchecked]. Also log chat messages is checked. The problem is that the chat log file (e.g fil_chat) has stopped recording since April. Previous recordings are in the file. No changes in the settings made before or after that period. I tried to move the file to another location (as a yellow suggested) as the software would create a new one, but nothing happened (no new chat file was created). I also tried to delete all chat [option in Chat Tab] but didn't work too. The actual chat log file size is 2.558 K and running Vista (is it relevant?). Any suggestions?

After director's rule (4♥ stands) the team appealed, claiming that South has passed unauthorized information to North and the showed availability of contracts (I have hearts but I am sure that it's ok), and claiming for adjustment to 3NT - 4 (♦ lead and ♠ shift - 6♠ and 2♦ = 8 tricks for the defense). The defense is automatic, and nothing extraordinary. The appeal commitee rejected the appeal. The point is that North has every right to bid anyhing he wants, especially 4♥ with a sing BUT after the long pause he has no right to do so. I would accept the bid after the pause, with 7321, 6421, 7330, 6430 and so, patterns that usually don't belong to NT. Am I wrong? After all North showed his hand, its partners desicion now. I think that both director's and appeal's commitee decisions were wrong because they examined the bid by North not having in mind the long pause and the availability of contracts that South offered. The dummy: [hv=s=sq83h543d1093ck1062]133|100|Scoring: IMPS[/hv] One the sight of dummy, director was called, and told about the bidding, and the long time that took dummy to respond in 3♥ . The result was 11 tricks (plus 1). Director was called again and the EW claimed South's (dummy) hesitation was unethical and information was passed to North on available contracts (3NT and 4♥). I have two questions for the moment: 1. What you reply to 3♥? 2. Do you think that there is unauthorised information from South (dummy) to North? Director ruled that 4♥ is the contract and the score is 4♥+1. For the moment I want you view on these facts only, because I don't want to influence you. I would like to thank all of you for your responses. Seems that the power system is uknown to the most of the bridge people, and only a few have tried it in real action. It is true that the relay structure is memory consuming, but common in a lot of sequences. You have to play it with your regural parnter, hard to find somebody else. There is only one reference in the web, a ten lines structure, nothing much to said. Still the book is the only known resourse. If I' ll try it I let you know how it's going. :ph34r: Thnks again Fil

Thanks for your replies The description of the Power System is: 1♣ forcing unlimited 1♦ 5+ 11-18 1♥/♠ 5+ 11-18 1NT 17-20 with various balanced patterns including 6332 2♣ natural 6♣+ or 5♣-4♦ 10-15 In general 2♣ to 1♦/♥/♠ is 10-12 no major and 2♦ is artificial game force. You can show hand patterns, the relay structure is quite similar in different situations (following the same principles as in such systems) but needs good memory. The point is that i hear and read a lot about systems like precision, moscito etc, but not for Power. Is it an oldfashioned system or a few people tried it? It is true that I wont find anybody to play except my regural partner but i cannot find any records/views so to try it? Fil
